MSFT Engineers are signing off the RTM build of Windows 7

Recommended Posts

Yea it is without the key, but they will be available to the public a few months later. In the meantime, people could just use the "re-arm" method.

By the way, Satchmo, you got me all excited. I thought they finally RTM'ed. Dang it man.

Also, anyone else having problems getting on Wzor's site? It won't seem to load now.

Sorry! :pinch:

I didn't mean to add any FUD to the convo.

I'm just too bloody excited!!! :woot:

More excited than when I heard the Spice Girls were going on tour for the first time.

EDIT: Wzor isn't loading here either.

@ mattburles, yes you should be able to use it til Oct 22 with the re-arm method.

Anyone successfully get on Wzor's site yet? It's still down. Which might mean one thing! Updates? Maybe it's finally available? What do you guys think?

Rearm is just a script that you can run to reset the activation time back to 30 days.

You can run this command up to three times, as is the case with Windows Vista. The rearm function of the Windows Software Licensing Service was primarily designed for OEMs so that they could return Windows licensing to a "clean" state.

:o no rtm this weekend than :(

im sick of using vista (N)

Get the RC, for now. It is still a great build, lots of people still use it in spite of there being newer builds around.

It'll give you a great experience, and sour Vista for you forever.

The re-arm method would allow you to use the rtm for 120 days in total including the initial 30 day period.

October 22nd minus 120 days equals 24th June.

In other words if that's the route you want to take then you better hope it is built and leaked this Wednesday at the earliest which I doubt.

Rumour has it that it won't be completed until this Friday coming which would put you in a better situation if you take this route otherwise you'll either have to reinstall it or use a crack which I seriously suggest you don't because you never know what might get done to you system plus MS have been pretty good at keeping on top of the known cracks lately and they'll no doubt find out and disable any cracks that may be around.

Lots of Oct 22nd mentions, but not everyone is going to have to wait until then to get a key. I'd be surprised if the end of July comes and it's not on MSDN/Technet Plus.
