Anybody excited for the new Call of Juarez?

Recommended Posts

The new Call of Juarez comes out within a week! I can't speak for anybody else but I have been patiently waiting for months now. The last was a sleeper hit for me. The game play was awesome and the graphics were amazing (at least on the PC). The multiplayer aspect seems to be kind of a toss in so I hope its development didn't hinder the single player content.

Yeah, the first one was brilliant, well-made and had a great atmosphere. I truly hope this will stick to the recipe and use an impressive graphics engine like the first one did, I remember that engine brought my PC to its knees

I liked the first one, I picked it up at EB a year or so ago for $1, I wasn't expecting much, but I really enjoyed the single player

sure the multiplayer wasn't that great.

Graphically, I'm excited. But that's about it. I have no plans on buying the game for the PC or X360. The previous game ran like crap on the PC. It touted DX10 graphics but what they failed to mention is that you'll be playing a slide show, not a game.

I never played the first one on a great computer (think it had a Radeon X1350 or something like that) but even then the game still looked great. I think overall that was what surprised me the most. This time around though, it will be a different story...

Should be the 30th of June for the US but DM has you covered already Remy.

On a side note, I've always wondered what people from other countries thought about Western type games. Westerns and slave narratives are the only types of new literature created by the US so playing a old school Western shooter always struck a cord with me.

not so much into ww2 games and westerns .. for some reason are not doing it for me, but do admire the level of detail and overall quality of these games., looking forward to gameplay and story leaks when it will get released.

Just downloaded the first one to see what it's like. The first few levels have actually left me quite impressed. Nice gfx for their time and solid linear first person action. Will definitely be keeping an eye on reviews of the sequel in the next couple of weeks.

So is this first one worth checking out if I never gave it a chance? If I recall correctly I rented it, but think some other game was out that just made me forget about it...

I can't entirely vouch for you but I still think it would be a solid rent. I can't remember about the re-playability but for my the single player campaign was solid and gorgeous (especially for the time).

Yeh definately, the level design is mostly very good, solid linear fun. It feels amazing to kick through a door and clear out a room full of baddies in seconds using the left and right clicks to fire each gun individually.

It seems cool so far, I really only played a little bit. I started playing it and then my wife called and said she was running late so could I start dinner, so my 360 was left on with the game on pause, so I barely played it. I just got into town and have to get some money so I can see the hooker who has the gun so I can steal it. LOL So really do not have much of an impression just yet, but it seems cool so far. I just hope it picks up a bit sooner than later and I do not have many more of these "fetch" type missions, as that is the quick way to make me lose interest fast.

You will have to forgive me there. I can't remember many missions near the start/middle but I do remember for some reasons the ones near the end as well as an epic one with a mesa. That is the one where I stood back and just said wow even on my crap computer that is gorgeous (and then fell off the mesa.....:p).

Got the new one in the post for review - though i'm under embargo til Tuesday at 9am for it. Can say it has the best graphics i've seen on the 360 since Gears of War with no slowing down.

sounds good, hopefully will also get it this week. The first was OK, wouldn't call it a great, but still fun and it had a substantial story to it as well. What interests me in the sequel is that it takes place during the Civil War, which is something very few media projects tackle these days.
