Hani
interfacelift uses a similiar system, for example: http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper_beta/de...raine_lake.html Users are able to give a thumbs up (insightful) and thumbs down (unnecessary) for each comment, and somehow the rating of the comment is calculated. this would reduce the number of posts that just say "+1", "i agree", "well said", "you're right", "me too"... furthermore, the rating of the whole thread would be calculated from these individual ratings. Victor V.
this would reduce the number of posts that just say "+1", "i agree", "well said", "you're right", "me too"... I don't see how these posts mean any harm, in the internet of so many bad sources, the more sources you have, the better.Otherwise, I agree this would be great to rate the whole discussion rather than the OP only. Satchmo Bevins
Youtube has this feature, and a lot of people I subscribe to there turn off comment rating on their videos. Mostly because it can be gamed hence not an accurate measure of quality. On here it would give the fanboy types a new tool to do battle with. Neowin has a good system as it is.
what
It's a forum, not an e-penis-embiggener. No thanks.
CrashG
That method would be abused more than the star ratings that are already in place. Also if something sounds interesting I'm going to read it no matter what kind of rating it has. Plus this has been discussed several times before, and shot down everytime.
