R-Flex
Adium is giving me trouble, in particular with the Alias system. My account is linked to an @hotmail.com address, and recently, my display name is shown as the e-mail address rather than the chosen Alias. This results in every contact seeing my information as only an e-mail address. Does anyone have any experience with this? I looked throughout other various forums, but there was little advice. The most prevalent advice was to change the display name to something else, and then change it back. However, there is no change. I just upgraded Adium to its latest version, and it did not fix the problem. Anyone else with any idea?
chenks
there are 2 places to set your display name in adium 1) is the global display name 2) is the msn specific display name have you set your alias in both these places?

General Disarray
Anyone know why this is? I have the same problem.
Miuku.
This is most likely related to libpurple since I've seen Miranda users with similar issues (and they both use it).
Menge
Miranda doesn't use libpurple. Can you sign into your hotmail account and verify your e-mail address with Microsoft? This usually happens when MSN tells me "E-Mail not verified"
Miuku.
Miranda doesn't use libpurple. Well, whatever Miranda does use, it has similar issues - I have 3 people on my contact list right now who all show up as their email address and the only thing they have in common is that they're all using Miranda. R-Flex
I just signed in on webmessenger and changed my name to the same as its set in adium and it appears to have stuck after logging back in with adium. I have done this too, and no longer is my alias my e-mail address. A good deal of thanks for the idea!
