nero78
Hey. I love the font rendering in OSX. Especially in safari. The web pages look hundred times better. Is that possible with windows firefox? I know of the tool gdi++, but i dont like it and the fonts just gets blurry. Any ideas to help me out?
code.kliu.org
Apple takes a different approach to font rendering. More details here: http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items/2007/06/12.html If you're using ClearType and don't like how it looks, you can use the ClearType Tuner (Google it) to adjust how things look. code.kliu.org
Thanks for reply, but ClearType Tunes is old and for XP. I'm on windows 7... ...which has the same ClearType Tuner from XP built in. But aside from adjusting the CT settings, there really isn't much you can do here. But I'm surprised that you think that Windows is blurrier. In my personal experience, I think that Macs are the ones with blurrier text. In any case, the only way to escape the Windows font engine is to use a program that implements its own font engine independent of the OS; you can't get an existing program to arbitrarily use a different font engine. Well, it's not the same tuner. But it does do the same thing and more. http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/2009/06/2...-windows-7.aspx
