Quillz
I have a folder that contains thousands of sports logos, and thus I like viewing them in List mode. Now, one thing I like to do is assign various colored labels so I can quickly associate a particular logo with a sport. The problem, naturally, is that Mac OS X seems to only offer seven colors. Is there a way to add more? Perhaps even through third-party software? I'm surprised Apple never offered a simple color picker to extend the number of available colors. what
Maybe they don't offer more than seven because if you need more most people would use sub-folders? This is Apple we're talking about.
Ricardo Gil
The purpose of having labels with color is that you can easily distinguish them. Having too many colors will just make some of them look similar thereby missing their purpose...
richardsim7
Why not put the separate sports in sub-folders? :s -Rich-
Quillz
Why not put the separate sports in sub-folders? :s -Rich- I could, but that's not how I'd prefer to keep them organized. If you're colorblind, which I'm not.

PyX
That would be the most counterproductive way to work ever :p 7 labels is already too much Maybe there are third-party apps to do that, but it would require a Google Search.
Quillz
Well, iconxprit seems to be the closest solution I've found, although it honestly does more than I need. I just assume, then, that it's something that will never really be changed much. I can live with it, I just would have liked to have a simple color picker like in iCal to create some new color labels.

PL_ Veteran Posted July 1, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 1, 2009 Have you thought about putting a letter before each one? That'll give you 26 options.
Quillz
Have you thought about putting a letter before each one? That'll give you 26 options. Yeah, I've ended up organizing them a different way. Just a shame I couldn't do it the way I really wanted to do it, though. I guess Apple feels that seven is enough for anybody.
