Battlefield Heroes Officially Launches

Recommended Posts

Official Website

The cartoonish, free-to-play, web-based iteration of DICE's Battlefield series has quietly slipped out of beta, with Battlefield Heroes, now available for anyone willing to partake. I've found no big launch announcement, and other than the new trailer on the front page of the site, it doesn't seem like much fanfare is being made. If you would like to play, feel free and head on over and knock yourself out. Just be quiet, because we don't want to accidentally wake up the marketing team.

I found one right away in Firefox...

What is weird is I did the Beta in IE, and now it will not work in IE for me, only FF...

Then next time around as I had left the server, I had to click it twice but second time it found one for me...

I really wish they would let you play in Windowed Mode...

Honestly though for a free game it is super fun.

It just blows me away how many people apparantly already spent money to soup their characters up so high. When I played the Beta, I consistently was in the Top 3 players on the server. Now I am consistently in the bottom 3 and feeling very outgunned by the weapons people are using.

So EA might already be on to something here, as I am feeling like I might drop $10 to get some Battlefunds.

Honestly I probably will not, and only play it here and there like I did today on lunchbreak.

So are people actually playing the game now? I tried the beta several times and I only ever got into 1 match with other people and they were all on my team. :hmmm:

Unfortunately I have to agree with you.. there were lack of developments, updates, and touch ups :( It definitely has potentials though. Unless they do something about it, it'll get out of date soon

I used to play in the beta alot, but then some people got hold of some framework that allowed you to massivly cheat :(

If only we could play in private servers.

The game has a ton of serious issues, especially regarding playing the game.

Once you actually manage playing it is quite a lot of fun. It's similar to battlefield 1942 but it has its own gimmicks. I think the rounds are too short and there is a lack of variety in vehicles, this game has some serious potential if they manage to fix all the technical problems and expand the environment.

I like the game, i been playing it since the private beta. It's fun like it was attended. Dice already mention this is not to replace Battlefield 2 or anything like that so that means it is not meant for Hardcore gamers.

Not working for me in Firefox 3.5 RC

Edit: I get the same thing in IE.

My Friend got that, it stopped showing up once he logged on.

I was a part of the beta, but I didn't get 200 points. What the?

Yeah you and a few other people. People who got it made sure they had that "opt-in" the setting to receive emails from EA about BF Heroes. Some did not get it though, don't know why. But i got mine. But you can't buy nothing that last unlimited time though.

Once you reach level 9 it becomes a grind to reach the next level. Don't get me wrong I like this game, but having to pay to have a XP multiplier widget to level up quicker. :(

Its an ok game. I like when people try to run me over and i toss a gernade on their vehicle and they just go by thinking they are going to capture the point then...BOOM!. "Ahh no, cap for you!"
