Simon Veteran Posted June 27, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 27, 2009 I've got Windows 7 installed on an HP Pavilion TX 1000 Entertainment laptop. Every few minutes, the computer will make a "device disconnected" noise, and it gets really annoying. It did not make the noise in Vista, this problem started after a clean install. Device manager isn't showing me any problems, either. Besides disabling the sound altogether, which isn't really a solution, anyone have any ideas about why this is happening? It happens even when the computer is idling, there's definitely nothing I'm doing.
CrashG
Only thing I can think of is try checking the power saving settings for USB devices.
zhangm Supervisor Posted June 27, 2009 Supervisor Share Posted June 27, 2009 If it is a driver/hardware conflict, perhaps you'll see some indication of this in the system event logs?
Simon Veteran Posted June 27, 2009 Author Veteran Share Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) I don't see anything in there. The hardware section is empty... is there somewhere else I should look? I'm also not seeing anything for USB, but the only thing plugged in right now is the power adapter. Unless there's an internal USB connection freaking out...
