Chanser
Got this game recently, I do like the controls and physics in this game. The replays after a knock out is great, see his face ripple after a punch in slow motion is awesome. I must admit it does give a good challenge in pro difficulty, though I do think the training mode at the beginning sets the cpu difficulty. So anyone playing? Sethos
Gave the demo a shot but it didn't have that "realistic" feel of FNR3, so I decided to skip it. ( Don't put too much into the word realistic, it's just for a lack of a better word, hard to describe really )
DJD
I played the demo just an hour ago and i quite like it, but i'm waiting a bit on buying it.

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted June 27, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 27, 2009 Yup, loving the game. I didn't even play the demo because I wanted to keep my excitment for the final game. It didn't disappoint :D
Neo003
I never go into FNR, not to mention is same thing in 1, 2, 3 and now 4. Is there any difference between them to spend so much money on them.

Well done you have clearly not played the game (Y) Fight Night Round 4 is vastly different from round 3...
Rookas
Got it, love it. Huge improvement over round 3. It just feels so much more realistic with the glancing blows, getting tangled up...etc. I'm having a great time with it. Only done legacy mode so far, and it's getting tough. Looking forward to fighting some friends.

neoadorable
just got it, am sure it'll be as good as FNR3 even if it was made by Canadians rather than Chicagoans...damn it.
Brad. It annoys me how you can only do one training exercise before a fight, like.. I booked a fight 4 weeks from the end of my recovery period and I could still only do one training exercise, wtf! My players stats need to go up a bit faster :/

neoadorable
it's not bad at all, but much harder than the previous entry...neoadorable doesn't like hard games. this thing is a challenge even in amateur. Makes me miss the old days of manifest destiny..bring the jobs back!
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted June 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 29, 2009 ^ You find it that hard really? I've played over 10 games against the CPU and never lost  Will get started on the career/legacy mode this week.
neoadorable
The Fight Now mode is easier, get into Legacy and you'll find it more of a challenge. But overall for the entire game, the controls aren't as accurate as in the previous game, and the computer gets "lucky" all the time with devastating counters. This is even in amateur...which is supposed to be a cakewalk. Plus the commentary is ridiculously bad - sometimes you think you're winning and they go on about how badly you're doing, and then the CPU boxer indeed proceeds to pummel you. Sometimes the commentators change their tune five times in one match, and it just sounds unconvincing. There's too much luck involved, you can tell it's the FIFA teams that are now responsible for FNR. Bless Canada's soul, it's not the same.
IceBreakerG
I made the mistake of buying this game. So far I wish I hadn't. The game has some serious issues in online play and in Legacy Mode. In Legacy Mode the issue is career ending. I was 25-0-0 in career mode, and I had a fight scheduled, and I got an email from the current champ challenging me. I accepted the challenge and it scheduled the fight for the same day my other fight was scheduled. I thought it would just cancel that fight or reschedule it for a later date. Well, I fought the current champ and won, and I became the champ. The issue is instead of canceling the previous fight, it basically just moved it down a week (wtf?). This effectively put that fight on the first day of recovery. You cannot sim past this day, and you can not fight. It puts the simulation in an endless loop and you keep getting the screen to fight or simulate. As a result, if you have the option, you can move up in weight class to get that achievement, but you cannot fight anymore. If you schedule another fight after you move up in weight, that previous fight is still there. The only thing you can do at this point is retire. I'm starting to think EA fired their QA staff before this game was released. Gonna try to see if I can take the game back and get Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 instead. Hopefully they will get a patch out for that ASAP. There's nothing worse than putting all this time into a game and then losing it all because of some lame glitch.
