ManiD
Hi; I have been using windows 7, Build 7100 since the release date and had no problem, but yesterday we had a power outage and when I turned on the computer again all weird stuff start happening, not having access to file and folder and drivers, access is denied and ...so didn't really wanted to bother to figure out whats wrong and did the easy solution: Reformat and reinstalled windows. now the only problem I'm dealing with is a 500 gig hard drive full of folder/subfolders/files which some of which have "Account unknown(s-1-5-21-17213484............) and Administrators as their Group or user names under security tab. as soon as I add my username to the list(which is an administrator) it removes the unknown account from list and change it to my account. so far so good. The only real problem I have is need of doing this manually for over 500 folder and subfolders. is there anyway i could basically do a mass ownershipchange and add some other account to the user list with full access. already tried selecting all the folders and right/properties, but it doesn't give you the security tab. Maybe a cmd command ?
ManiD
G:\>icacls . /setowner Mani /T /L /Q .\SetupVirtualCloneDrive5425.exe: Access is denied. Successfully processed 41 files; Failed processing 1 files and the funny part is this file doesn't exist on my G: drive, atleast it doesn't show up. Nevermind I'm dumb it was hidden, but yeah there are some files and folders basically that dont have any owner or anyuser have access to them. i have to manually add my user to the list.
