Appzalien
All other forums I visit that have a quick reply button, it remains in its position and the reply window opens below it, that makes the add reply button the only one to hit when your done. The way it is on this site it moves with the reply window and ends up below it to be clicked again when your done typing. I do it all the time and its very irritating. I can't imagine why a reputible site like this cannot get something right that even warez sites do correctly. Whats the problem boy's don't know how to code? The issue is compounded by the fact that the quick reply button is huge and sticks out like a sore thumb but the actual add reply button to enter your comment is tiny and easy to miss. See if you can get it right next time thru the debugging process, I would appreciate it. Along with the fact that this site is IE user unfreindly and the pages load like molasses and I'm forced to use opera when I visit. I would think that with all the experts that hang around here you could do better than the warez and dinky forum sites but NO! Something just doesn't seem right about that. Mazhar
The issue is with your side for sure and there is no problem with the forums. And by the way, they haven't coded the forum software it is a third party software.
Subject Delta
The issue is with your side for sure and there is no problem with the forums. And by the way, they haven't coded the forum software it is a third party software. They do code the skins though, and they are what do most of the frontend rendering, however if the OP is using IE8, a lot of the code in the skins may well not be updated for IE8 yet, in which case viewing the site in compatibility mode may smooth the problem over Also, I see no issues in IE, and the site doesn't render any more slowly than other forums

Fred Derf Veteran Posted June 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 29, 2009 It could be his skin and thus he might want to set it to Finity (or at least tell us what you have been using). Someone mentioned MSIE8, I haven't tested anything with that but presumably the devs have. It could be a standard editor vs real-text editor issue. I use the standard editor as the default. As someone already mentioned you can have a quick reply open automatically (this is cookie-based so you may need to do this on every computer you use to connect to Neowin with).
