Ah. Haven't played that yet. Is it a plane oriented type map?

Yeah its a plane only map, so you have no choice but to wait for a plane lol.

Ah alright. Just had a go on it, didn't have any problems with getting a plane but there were a few idiots trying to blow up their own planes.

One problem I'm having with this game is with the sound. Bad Company had incredible sounds, while this one still has awesome sounds, every so often you'll hear something cut out like it's been cut short then the sound will dip and seem to restart itself. This was most noticable in the planes, every so often it would happen but it also happens while normally playing.

Anybody else having that issue? It kind of sucks, I like to crank my sound system up and enjoy the awesome Battlefield noises, but this drags me out of the experience.

your surprised by this ? guessing you have not played any of the other BF games, i have seen people shoot others dead just for running ahead of them to get to a vehicle (tank, helo, plane )

Well at least it has FF off. Or we'd be smack bang back in BF2 all over again.

lol. All those idiots who just sat in the middle of the runway when you got into the plane first. Great in the F35 with vertical takeoff, but **** for all other planes.

Had a quick play of the demo for this today (now that it's letting me sign in!) and really enjoyed it. Quite tempted to splash out for the full game actually.

Haha I was doing that last night while waiting for a plane to spawn. It doesn't make a difference because there is no FF, so there isn't any damage to the plane or player. As soon as a plane from the other team came flying by everyone started shooting at it though.

It's pretty much the only thing to do while waiting for one to spawn other than standing still. And standing still is so over rated these days (N) :p

haha :p You must be new to Battlefield. Just be thankful that friendly fire isn't on by default like it is on the PC releases. Airstrips become a warzone of smacktards.

Actually one annoying thing that happened while AJ, Doug and I played the other night was a couple of guys parachuted out of their plane and landed on our aircraft carrier.

They sat at the far end with the sniper and just picked people off when they spawned  And of course they were doing it in pairs, so when one died, they just spawned on their squad mate (N).

Taken with my cell phone right next to my computer...

So maybe I just do not remember it, or maybe I just was somehow lucky enough to avoid idiots (which I do think is the case as I had my favorite servers and stuck with them), but I really have never been so frustrated playing a BF game as I was last night...

I had this issue as well last night, the first time I experienced it was last night, and it was only on Coral Sea, so perhaps it is just an issue with it and the planes, as I only had issues while flying as well.

Yeah Peter (.Kick) was telling me he could hear the sound dip out. It wasn't until last night or the night before I noticed it, and it was because it happened for an extended time.

And actually the more I think about it, in my 150 hours or so of playing BF2, I actually specifically remember if you did team kill, you were almost automatically kicked from the servers I played on with no questions asked. I remember one of the (i.e. the only) very rare times I was commander, I executed a really bad Air Strike, and was kicked and banned from the server instantly. And it took a whole lot to convince the guys who ran it that it was an honest mistake.

So yeah, I am surprised, as team killing and overall griefing is just not the game I remember or the game I played at all.

If getting TK'd and griefed is the game others remember, I honestly do not know why you even bothered playing, as that is just not what my overall experience was and you definitely were playing a bastardized, i.e. not very fun, version of the game.

Not really. If the server admin had tk punish enabled, then you needed something like 5 punished teamkills in a round to get autokicked. With it disabled, you could tk as much you as you liked until a kick vote passed (which it never did in 64 player matches) or a server admin stepped in. There was a patch that meant artillery strikes didn't count as teamkills as well. The whole system was really ****. The ultimate solution would have been to disable friendly fire on all ranked matches, but then people would've cried that it wasn't realistic enough, despite everyone having a better time of it - there is nothing 'fun' about teamkills, accidental or not. You want to be responsible for your own death.

I don't have the best sound system on my TV or anything, but when you guys are flying on Coral Sea (didn't notice it on any of the other maps) and you went into a really really steep dive (like coming really close to smashing into the water or something) did you guys hear that famous plane noise you hear when planes are nosediving? I can't describe it, but if you heard it you know what I mean. It's a nice touch.

Has anyone been able to get online with the trial version on xbox 360? I have never been able to connect which makes me hesitant to buy the game, as much as I want it. It seems like just an issue with the trial but at the same time I don't understand why they would offer a trial that only lets you check out the tutorial. I don't want to buy the game and then not be able to play.

Boz, omg do you still play Joint Ops? I'd so reinstall that if I knew I could find someone to play with and find a decently populated server (128 players ftw!). I know since it's release on Steam Joint Ops (and Black Hawk Down) have seen a major uptick in online players, but Joint Ops is just so awesome online.

Plus Spookie, that 1942 box could be that all in one pack that had the expansions in it. That sticker on the bottom right could be obscuring the whole name of the package (I'm just guessing here lol). But yeah, every single one of those games in his pic are just amazing games. Medal of Honor, omg did I play that to death. World in Conflict? Amazing. Next.

Coral Seas tips for newbie pilots.

If you need to quickly change direction DO NOT try to lean left or right.. you will get shot because you can't escape that way.. you should flip your plane and use that technique..

for example, let's say you fly straight.. somebody starts shooting at you. You start turning right but they are still shooting at you. You will get killed no doubt.. as you are turning right, you flip plane 180 degrees and you will be quickly flying to the left instead of trying to normally lean left and try to wiggle which makes you an easy target. When you are flipping 180 degrees you are also a much more difficult target and the plane hunting you can't follow you fast enough.

Not a bad tip Boz but doesn't that all come down to if you are high enough in the sky, making sure that you have enough room between you and the sea/ground to manoeuvre.

If you're flying low dropping bombs that tactic isn't gonna work very well.

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what you do. I need to watch some videos on YouTube.

No..unfortunately I don't play Joint Ops anymore.. but there's something much better these days.. it's called ARMA 2 ;)

If you want to play an amazing war game with the feel of Joint Ops but much much more detailed and awesome looking ARMA 2 is your thing.

I'm Boz on ARMA 2 servers. I'm usually on 7th Cavalry Realism server or 15th Realism Regiment Recruiting Server 2. Great team work but 7th Cav server knows to lag a lot. 15th Reg Realism Server 2 is awesome and very fluid and great teamwork.

Nah.. you flip quickly.. you can fly low. I do it all the time. It's a quick flip with your left stick 180 and you are flying in the opposite direction.

This is not for bombing though. This is for Coral Seas mode (Air Superiority).

Ok cool I'm gonna have to try it because whenever someone is on my tail I can never get away. I've been trying to take my finger off the accelerator to do sharp turns and it just makes you an easier target to hit sitting in mid-air.
