[Official] Battlefield 1943

Recommended Posts

I'm on PS3 and finding games easily and without much lag.

My problem is the controls and hit-detection. It seems they've gone down the Bad Company route - very inaccurate "spray and pray" and the flight controls are so unfriendly they had to have been designed that way! You can amend the controls, to be honest, but it just doesn't feel "right". Your tilt is very twitchy compared to your ability to yaw/pitch too.

It all feels heavy and you have no idea how/why/when you died most of the time.

You joking?

I kid, i kid

Games aren't cross compatible, console versions have their own servers.

Quake III on DC servers had PC players pwning us.

Bought BF 1943 on The PSN earlier on this evening.

Really enjoying it.

No lag, joining servers with no problems either.

Anyone thinking about purchasing Battlefield 1943 for the PS3, don't worry about lag / no servers. Pick it up now.

hmm i went to download it on my ps3 and i can't find it in psn anywhere. Is the release differnet for the US or something?

Check on New Releases, its the second game that appears.

It just popped up on the PSN (at least the US store), I was checking every 5 minutes.

it was hard to find on xbox too, it wasn't in the marketplace anywhere, I don't even remember how I eventually found it lol.

 It's the 1st item in the spotlight for me. It's the 1st thing I see when I turn on my 360 right now.

wasn't for me at the time I got it, I distinctly had remembered it being in the spotlight on my friends xbox too but I got home and went to buy it and it wasn't there at all, and it wasn't showing up in the marketplace. It was probably a glitch or something.

They've said they're slowly adding servers, just wait until tomorrow?

Well, I downloaded the trial, played Wake Island, and the game is damn fun. A little different from other FPS (maybe its that I don't play FPS on console, only on PC), I need time to get adjusted to the controls. Flying is fun, and using the tank is too easy to get a lot of points.

Seems the PS3 version doesn't have any problems of connecting or lag, guess its only an Xbox Live issue?

Update#6: Some technical issue slowed down the targeted time of the major server increase, but fear not we have increased the the server capacity and the bigger increase is going to happen. No one is sleeping or resting until it is complete. Buy stock in Red Bull because we have consumed it in liters! PS3 having less layers in it's configuration has gone smooth and server capacity is holding for now and servers still being added for the weekend spike.

I also want to add I have never helped lead such an extraordinary event and teams with so many people working so hard and passionately before. I know it is frustrating for you guys, but know the best best I can hope for are working on this and making things happen. This is not lip service, this is action baby!

Server Locations

Xbox 360: Amsterdam, Miami, Fremont CA, and Tokyo. We are adding more locations as we to spread the load of players.

PS3: Amsterdam, Virginia, L.A., and Tokyo. We are adding more locations as we to spread the load of players.

Fun Facts

I need to share something fun and cheery now. And even though many can't get in, many have and played a lot of games already.

* On Day 1 there were 29.45 years of gameplay completed on Xbox 360

* Over 5 millions kills in the first day!

Source

BTW if we get 5mil kills a day for 8.5 days we will get the new map :D

5 million kills the first day? 9 more days and the other map will be unlocked.

Oh, never mind, the counter starts tomorrow. Guess those 5 million kills and the ones from today won't count.

I was just in the middle of writing a rant as a reply, and it actually joined a game

The spawn points can be annoying, I mean right in front of an enemy eek!

So basically US servers are still screwed?

Once again my plans have been foiled and apparently I will not be playing right now as I had initially planned, but there is always the possibility of hopping on in two to three hours when my wife falls asleep. However if there are still issues, I honestly will not even bother and just go to bed as well.

So if someone from the US can just confirm if they are indeed still having issues, it would be appreciated.
