dt
I am wondering are the builds post-RC / pre-RTM at all faster than the RC? Any even slightly significant changes in performance since then?
null_
I am wondering are the builds post-RC / pre-RTM at all faster than the RC? Any even slightly significant changes in performance since then? Mostly bug fixes and slight performance optimization as they start taking out the debugging code.

belto
RTM = Released To Manufacturer. They have the ability to catch bugs that did get caught in the Beta Stage. It is final code but the finished and polished code will be called gold if I remember correctly. So in other words hardly any differences unless a huge bug is found out. Remember Vista :woot: some people say the M$ pushed this out  to fast or soon. Now that would be considered a huge bug if you have a comical mindset. deletedxyz
What this means is that people can get Win7 earlier than the silly release date of October. That also means there will be Win 7 Ultimate copies floating around too. :\
Thunderbuck
Only way to get it "legally" when it RTMs is by TechNet for the general public, which costs $350 for a year but you get access to every piece of Microsoft software out... This is really picky of me, but... TechNet will definitely be a way to short-cut to the Win7 RTM. It does not, however, get you "every piece of Microsoft software out..." It will get you copies of most MS operating systems, and systems management stuff. MSDN is much better, since it includes production licenses for Office, Visual Studio, Visio, and Project, as well as access to stuff like SQL Server, FoxPro, and lots more. Mind you, for most of the REALLY cool enterprise-level stuff it's strictly development licenses (MS catches you using it in "production", you're in big doodoo), but for, say, the "advanced hobbyist" you'd be pretty unlikely to draw their attention. Another Canuck
It still backs it up. It RTM's on the 13th and is given out later in the month. I highly doubt they would give it out on the same day it RTM's.
The Patri0t
According to Wzor; RTM will appear on Connect [probably they mean Technet/MSDN too] on 24th July. Computed Translation from Wzor:And so, with the seventh July we are now entering the final stages of the Assembly and the selection of сборкок in the final RTM releases Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. You ask, and why it is with the seventh and not with the sixth June, with 4 - 7 June, in the US holidays, Microsoft does not work, the Assembly rests:) to the tenth July upon the candidates in kubka and closed from all vote leading 200 engineers Microsoft, to determine which of the recent win7_rtm assemblies will be the final RTM release, this procedure will begin with a 13 - 14 July and will only be completed on 24 July accommodation RTM release on connect ' e. On our data already 10th July will be harvested candidate in kubka and the Assembly may receive тапы. Suppose that such a candidate in the final will be the Assembly 7268 or 7270 of twigs assemblies win7_rtm (7270 has not collected, as in other still not been collected and 7269 ??????), and suppose that it will be signing (sign - off), immediately after this will have this Assembly in the final RTM release, but already in another branch assemblies, suppose this will build 7300, and only after that we can confidently say that appeared the final release. But, even after that you can have the final RTM release repeated, but necessarily will be saved to the final Assembly, how many number would not have had the compile a new. Here is briefly the what we all wait in the coming weeks.

And noone would complain if this thread didn't have the misleading title "CONFIRMED" at the front of it. Maybe you don't understand what confirmed means, but in english it means something has actually been said to be undeniably true from the reputable source, in this case it would be Microsoft. This thread should have said UNCONFIRMED:.... because Microsoft HAS NOT CONFIRMED this to be true. It may be true, it may not be, but the whole exercise was an attempt for some tech site to get traffic by using a supposed "confirmed" scoop. In future post just the facts, and if you can't reveal your source, then it is UNCONFIRMED.
Chris123NT
wzor has been passed false information before, so it would not surprise me if this was fake as well. After all, a fair amount of news sites confirmed the July 13 date with anonymous sources at Microsoft.

I am Reid
Whether its true or not, does anyone know if the RTM will be avaliable on MSDNAA? I had the RC avaliable, so I would think the RTM would be avaliable.

MSDNAA is not directly managed by Microsoft, it is managed by the participating schools.
