CONFIRMED: Windows 7 To RTM July 13th

Recommended Posts

I think there is a good chance that it will be an odd number since they are at 7270 now and 30 more builds isn't likely at this point

nah , not necessarily to go through them.

just incrementing the build number to the nearest hundredth number that all.

or did you seriously think they went through 1270 builds of windows 7 ? (hint: vista build 6000)

Once they get to the magical build, they'll just re-compile it as built 7300 that would be my guess anyway

WZor reports that these builds exist:

6.1.7270.0.win7_rtm.090708-1900 - RTM Candidate

6.1.7271.0.win7_rtm.090709-1520 - RTM Candidate

If that's true then there is almost no chance of a July 13th release.

where are you "hearing" this; a forum post, blog, microsoft, the showers?

No, nothing official. It's a co-worker of mine, who is on the beta, who said he was speaking to some of the

MS employees on the dev team.

However, I spoke to him this morning and he has changed his story.

He said he spoke to one of them last night and he said they signed off on it Saturday night,

and that it should be announced sometime this afternoon (Pacific Time).

He also said the 27th is the date they are aiming for to post to Technet/MSDN.

Yes, again, just rumor, but figured I'd share.

Does it change anything? No.
