AltecXP
I was reinstalling Windows 7 (moving from 32-bit to 64-bit) and realized, I have about 5-6 apps I feel like I NEED on any install of Windows, but I never played around with OS X enough to find more then 1, Adium. It got me wondering. What apps are your "must have" apps for OS X that you feel you just cant work with out?

AltecXP
you mean the one with out of date apps and some don't work right? Shiira alone is almost a year out of date unless they have started back up.
PNWDweller
I'll bite. :) Must haves are mostly obvious in this crowd, but... Firefox Then... Postbox (for email, I have many many accounts) Tweetdeck (for my twitters.) Quicksilver (Awesome tool - hard to explain) Devonthink (for my many many notes I live by now) Woopra (My web site tracker program I use) Appcleaner (It helps uninstall where dragging to the trash doesn't clean, it does)

Which apps don't work right? I'll remove them if they don't. It just takes a visit to Shiira's home page to see that the dev is still working on it. AltecXP
Well when I had last looked the last build was from jan 08, so I had assumed it was over with.
giga Veteran Posted July 4, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 4, 2009 Well when I had last looked the last build was from jan 08, so I had assumed it was over with. Candybar, ffmpegX, Max, Quicksilver, NetNewsWire all haven't been updated in a year/two or so. Doesn't necessarily mean that they're not useful or don't work right. instant.human
everytime i set up a new system, i need to have the following: - Safari - iTunes - Mail - Adium - Last.fm - make sure DropBox is installed - Pages - Transmission - Photoshop - Things i tend to like apple software most of the time. while they are installed by default, i figured id post them anyways. however, its not that much i really need to install everytime. and then there of course is the usual documents/music/movies-folder restore. ;)
