crazzy88ss
My iMac hasn't been "refreshed" since its initial install back when it was purchased in ~June 2006. Load times of things are noticeably slower. 1.) Would a reinstall of OSX fix the speed issues? 2.) To make things easier for me, would an "Archive and install" type of installation be just as good (in terms of speed) as a completely new/blank installation of OSX? Quillz
Re-installs of operating systems always see improvement, since you're starting fresh. Also, I don't see the need for Archive & Install so long as you use Time Machine. Just do a clean install, and copy over all the stuff you want from your most recent Time Machine backup. (Do it via Finder, rather than the Time Machine application itself.)
StevoJD
Have you tried doing an Onyx cleanup yet? I'd try that before a format... Save the format for Snow Leopard. Edited July 4, 2009 by StevoJD
