Issues trying to play GTA:SA

Recommended Posts

Right, well I finally caved in an purchased GTA: San Andreas over xbox live, downloaded it and pressed play game. The game fails to play and comes up saying ''The game could not start. Please download the game again. For more help, go to www.xbox.com/support''.

No help is on the link suggested by the error message and i have deleted then downloaded the game again, to no avail.

Anyone had this issue and know how to resolve it? Thanks in advance.

edit: just cleared the cache, still not working.

Do any other BC titles work?

Any chance that you bought a large hard drive for your 360 off of ebay?

This is symptomatic of the types of errors that you get with a hard drive that was "upgraded" and cloned off a real one (inability to play BC titles).

Oh I see, yeah I upgraded my hard drive myself, didn't realise that meant I'd have the inability to play BC titles :(

So there's no way around it? Ergh.

*sigh* My only thought atm is to backup all of my game saves to the internal memory, format my 120gb drive and then use a transfer kit with another 20gb HDD.

One question though, will all of the data from the 20gb HDD be copied onto the 120gb hard drive and then deleted? Or will it still be present on the 20gb HDD as well? I wouldn't want to go and wipe my friends 20gb HDD :p

Can't you connect it to your PC and back it up there?

I've never used the transfer kit, i just backed it all up on my PC before doing it.

Yeah I can do, last time I tried the software froze when I ran it. I'll look around and try properly :)

when you use the transfer kit, it copies all the data off the smaller drive to the bigger one, then deletes it all off the smaller one

When you use the transfer kits it wipes the original hard drive.

Thanks guys (Y) I'll try via my PC tomorrow :)

Well, I'm a little sorry to hear that you're in the same boat as me, then :/

Personally I use my old 20gig for playing BC and the larger drive for 360 games. I have a Jasper so my profile is on the internal flash.
