Ive noticed alot more gameplay is available through xbox live and was wondering will a netgear wg111v2 usb wireless adapater work on the xbox? I would try it out, but not currently at home. Cheers. +Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted July 8, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted July 8, 2009 No, it won't. You need to use either the MS adaptor or an ethernet wireless bridge... Or wired...
Dead_Monkey
Probably not. Generally you'll find that wireless bridges work great with 360 and the original Xbox (this is a little wireless device that plugs into the console via ethernet), but that USB wireless adapters other than the 360 one might not work. My only experience testing a USB adapter was with an older Belkin, it's possible that if you have a newer one branded with the Vista compatible logo, it will work (Vista logo testing for wireless routers included a suite designed to ensure compatibility with Xbox 360), but I can't say for sure. Bridges are cheap these days, you can get a B/G bridge quite inexpensively ($30 or $40). You may see some of them advertised as wireless print servers (they have some USB connections on them for a printer, and usually will also have ethernet ports).
