shihchiun
I believe the main differences are screen size and a discrete GPU (the Pro has one, the regular one does not). Screen size is screen size, and the discrete GPU is really only useful if you play games.
Malisk
Yes, the main thing I'd consider would be the screen size. Stuff like RAM and drive size can be upgraded by yourself later on if you wish. Apple even provide instructions, although it isn't rocket science in either case. Go check what you're comfortable with in a computer store if you're unsure, and then go for the appropriate Mac. There's no special system that "suck" performance-wise IMHO, anyway, especially not now with the early 2009 upgrades across the board.
grant0r
depends what you intend on using it for and your preferences to screen size etc :)
Brian M. Veteran Posted July 8, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 8, 2009 Be careful with the GPU, the 13" pro and the entry level 15" now have integrated GPUs only (they have a 9400m). The mid range 15" has a 256mb 9600M, and the high end 15" and 17" have a 512mb 9600m. If it's your first Mac, have you had a look at the refurbs? I picked up a 2.8Ghz Unibody MacBook Pro with the 512MB graphics for just over a grand, as they have excess stock when they release slightly newer models. If you go for a 15" pro refurb, you'll get an expresscard slot, instead of that stupid SD slot, although if you go for 13" refurb you'll lose the sd slot and firewire and gain nothing other than a microphone port. RuudJacobs.NET
I suggest going for the Pro, worth the money in terms of overall power.
L0u1s
go for the low config of the 15" if you don't plan to do graphic stuff

Some use it for creative/production purposes also ex: 3DSM, C4D, etc.
