bolerodan
Oh man this is fantastic news. CnC3 was good. After the last bit of patches. I figure they did a descent job on their first true CnC Tiberium game. RA3 is even better and they did a lot of cool new things so im really looking forward to CnC4. ToneKnee
I miss the original Red Alert, that game was epic on so many levels.
scokem
I read this earlier - incredible news - I'm still lifting my desk :p I grew up playing C&C and have been hooked ever since my first go. It'll be a shame to see the Tiberium storyline come to a close, but after 15 years it'll be nice to have everything finally answered. I'm still ****ed that they canned Tiberium though :( I wanted to play that so bad! Anyways, here's to C&C4 (Y) Peace through power!
gigapixels Veteran Posted July 9, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 9, 2009 Never been a fan of the Command & Conquer series. The only PC RTS that's ever grabbed me was StarCraft. But if a demo comes out for this, I'll definitely give it a try  Thread Moved
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted July 10, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 10, 2009 The last Command & Conquer game I played before Red Alert 3 was Generals/Zero Hour. I didn't like the whole "Tiberium Wars" concept. Nonetheless, I tried the games. And I'll definitely try this one.

Comic Book Guy
Hopefully the retards at EA will do the right thing this time, and program in native support for x64 versions of Windows, unlike C&C3!

Since when could retards develop games? Seriously though, not everyone uses a 64-bit operating system. At most, they'd add 64-bit support in a patch like Crysis Warhead. CL114C0777498D
it looks awesome, and the pc-only is a huge plus. i want to buy it just to support the pc as a viable, profitable gaming platform. and a big GTFO to consoles. if only i enjoyed rts games :p
Argi
I'm reserved about the mobile base changes but holding off my judgement until I can get a chance to play it. Also not a fan of having to be tethered online - there's times when I'm out of a house on my laptop where net access isn't available (and hence I'd probably need to find a crack to play it offline). I doubt there would be much of an advantage in a game like this.

Ayepecks
I doubt there would be much of an advantage in a game like this. I would think that in an RTS there'd be more of an advantage, actually. I don't really care, though. All the 64 bit versions of games I've seen really haven't been any smoother or anything.

Athernar
So after saying in C&C3's in-universe lore that walkers were discontinued due to production costs, EA decided to go back to using walkers in the game that follows it. And the jist of what I've read is they're going back to a brink-of-extinction type setting? They've essentially repeated the Tiberium Dawn->Sun setting and tank style jump again. While completely killing the awesome setting/lore of Tib Sub to take it in a new direction in 3 only to go back on themselves with 4?
Elite Prime
Hopefully this game will bring a satisfactory conclusion to the whole Tiberium story I have played all the C&C games many times over for many years and the thought of finally finding out who and what Kane and what he really wants is something I'm looking forward to. Ayepecks
Since they worked at EA. Aw snap! That just happened! How do you feel now, EA? Do you need some bandages for that burn you were just given?!

Far Cry has an x64 game executable that you can download, not sure about Crysis cause I've never played it. I fail to understand your negative attitude towards a game developer/publisher like EA. Also, I just told you that Crysis Warhead has 64-bit support (thanks to a patch). What's there to be not sure of? Anyway, I really hope they make the game UI more user-friendly and intuitive. I found the UI in Red Alert 3 to be a little too unintuitive for my taste.
Crazysah
So a game that isn't watered down in certain areas to make it compatible for the consoles and is a pure PC RTS? Win-o-Win! Yeah. A game I will be buying on day 1!
rajputwarrior
bought the third one on day one, this will be the same. The last one was awesome, just pure old skill C&C fun, i hope they stick to this formula.
Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted July 11, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted July 11, 2009 Is it just me or was C&C3 a disappointment? I still find C&C2 the best one out of the 3 to play. I hope 4 isn't like C&C3..
Ayepecks
I loved the third. C&C2 was actually the biggest critical letdown, but I loved it, too.
