Newinko
Having an internet connection is an extreme form of DRM? Sending SP stats to a server is calling home? "Extreme" is the word used in ArsTechnica's article. Send them your complaints if you disagree. How would you feel if your browser suddenly started requiring an Internet connection to browse offline files?
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted July 15, 2009 Author Subscriber² Share Posted July 15, 2009 "Extreme" is the word used in ArsTechnica's article. Take up complaints with them if you disagree. How would you feel if your browser suddenly started requiring an Internet connection to browse offline files? You said it yourself, if you were quoting Ars you should of made it clearer. I disagree with them also if it makes a difference. I'm suppose to care if a browser wants an internet connection to browse offline files? I think there's other more important things for me to be concerned about. My PC would be online anyway whilst browsing the offline files
Green_Eye
I'm glad to hear that fans of this particular CnC universe are getting this game but me myself am not too fond of it. Where's my sequel to Zero Hour dammit! :(
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted July 16, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 16, 2009 The requirement for an always-on Internet connection seemed a little much at first, but I'm beginning to understand the benefits of employing such a requirement. Hopefully, it won't be obtrusive like other forms of DRM (e.g. SecuROM) that uses a limited number of activations per product key. Also, it's 2009! I'm pretty sure at least 80% of people with computers have an Internet connection. Anyway, I was hoping for a sequel to Command & Conquer: Generals ? Zero Houri>. Sethos
Oh I'd love another game along the lines of "Generals", that was by far my favourite Command & Conquer game of all times!

Yeah trust me man I understand! That game was only second to Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge in my all time fav RTS's some of my finest achievements in gaming have come from Generals and Zero Hour. And those Horde type online mod's that would have endless armies coming through a narrow passage way and you and friends had to defend. Pure awesomesauce right there! Generals
