Notice a trend? I think one of my main gripes is with Live, you can't even buy a 1200 point option, so you are essentially forced into paying even more for a game, and have extra points just sitting there. I think it's a psychology game, where they hope you will buy cheaper bull**** off live with the remaining points.

I can't even remember the last XBLA game I purchased and I own roughly 40 of them. It's been at least six months for me personally.

I was extremely excited to play TMNT:###### RS, but I'm not sure if it's worth paying 1200 MS points for what is more than likely a 1 1/2 hour, single play through.

Ive always thought that it is too expensive for arcade games.

Only games/dlc I have bought are Lost & Damned and Battlefield 1943, the only two which I think are worth the money.

That's exactly what it is...

Easiest option? Don't buy them.

I think they're totally worth it, considering some of the XBLA games have huge replay value. Trials HD will be one. Although in that list i do think they're being a bit generous on the 1200 point games.

Out of that list the only game on there I'm considering is Shadow Complex (because it looks badas). But I agree, the price of the games are definitely going in the wrong direction. They would sell many more copies if the prices were lower.

What's 1200 points? ?10?

Some games are worth that, but I personally get suckered into the ?3-8 bracket much more easily, especially considering the length of some of said titles. Best value for money title I've bought this generation has been PixelJunk Eden at ?5 or ?6 I think it is. Over 10 hours of gameplay if you want to fully complete it. However it's a love it or hate it game.

BF1943 is an example if something priced at higher price that's justif(Y) (Y) It's almost like a chunky slice of a retail game, high production values and good replay ability.

Anyway Unrealistic I think the bigger issue is this

I think one of my main gripes is with Live, you can't even buy a 1200 point option

Not so much the pricing of the games, you can ignore overpriced games and just buy those that are worth it, but pricing games at 1200 without letting you pay that is a bit crappy, you're constantly left with change that's not in your pocket. It's like buying a game in Best Buy for $45 bucks, paying with $50, then BB saying we'll keep the change until you next visit.... If it's a few pennies, big deal, but when we start talking dollars you may want it for something else. MS aren't going to change their space bucks policy, but I think they should let you buy whatever value of points you want to buy at the fixed currency conversion. Or if you have 1010 points, go to buy something at 1200, it will just charge you for 110 points to top you up. That's one genuine thing MS would benefit from copying from PSN.

Nah not really. I just don't buy the game if I don't like the price, but I don't have a problem with paying more than 800 points if I really want something.

And no, there's no 1200 point option, but you can go to the Amazon Xbox Live Arcade Store and just buy the game code for retail price without even going through the point system, so that eliminates that entirely (at least for the US).

Marvel vs Capcom is pretty much an Xbox Classic game, so it's price is totally justified too. Not to mention its such a rare collectors game. You'd have to spend around ?30 on eBay for it.

Can't wait for it to release:heart::

I definitely think prices have went up a lot lately and I'm not pleased with it. A few rare games are worth 1200 points, but half of the ones on this year's "Summer of Arcade" are not. But then again, the "deal of the week" will probably drop them down to a reasonable price at some point.

Both TMNT2 and MvsC2 are worth the 1200 points IMO but I can't speak for the rest. MS is doing away with the points system soon so one of your complaints will be taken care of :) I just wish MS would fix the stupid D-Pad to eliminate the need for a 3rd party controller.

SS2THDR was 1200 points and that was a completely remade game. Every sprite, every piece of music, it was all remade in High-def. MvsC2 is not, it's just upscaled - yet it's 1200 points as well? That can't be right.

I would've loved an HD Remix of that game as well, but Capcom is known for laziness sometimes and this is one of those times. They simply didn't want to undertake that kind of project. As a game though, its much more meaty than SS2THDR. The sheer number of characters alone make it worth the price. You're going to pay a lot more for the Dreamcast version and a used DC that may or may not die on you.

All I want before I bid farewell to my DC is XBL releases of Zombie Revenge, Crazy Taxi, SNK sv Capcom and Daytona!

But the game was developed years ago. All that Capcom had to do was port it, not exactly something difficult and nothing new for them. Absolutely no reason to charge 1200 points for it.

Considering the original idea was that arcade games were suppose to be cheap so they were bought on impulse buys. Yes they are too expensive. ?10 for an arcade rehash?

Kindly **** off imo.

If you don't like it though, do what I do, vote with your wallet. Buy what you believe is of value and ignore the rest.

I think it's worth it. I've had a ton of replay value from XBLA games and my wife has become fond of the 360 because of it. So, that's another plus.

What irks me is stuff like the 1943 issues. When SFII came out, same thing - connection problems, lag, etc. And you can't just return the game. I think XBLA has become way more than Microsoft wanted it to be - remember the 45MB cap? Hahaha yeah.

MS Points are just like gift cards... kind of, or even more so like arcade coins. The physcology behind it (I know I spelt that wrong oh well), is that when you buy points, you won't think of the real world money value of each point, so you will just keep on spending them. One of the best marketing strategies out there!

Gift cards, well how many people do you know that just throw away gift cards? I know a lot, or they never use them until they expire. The perfect way for a company to make money!

But I wish that they would just show you the real world value so I don't have to A) Buy points, and B) then go back to what item I want to purchase and then try purchasing it again if I didn't have points the first time I tried.

Uhhh, jubber2002 your sig is f*****.

As for MS points, I hate how they only sell them in amounts that are ultimately useless, like 2100, but then again it's nice when you find them for cheap, however that is rare.
