Pc gaming controller

Recommended Posts

I wanna get a controller I don't need anything amazing just want something really cheap for when the odd game lets me play split screen/two people on one computer so I can play with my girlfriend I was hoping I could spend around $30 ($20 American).

Was just wondering if I get any random plugnplay controller will it work with any game or do most new games only work certain brands/models?

Edit: would something like this be okay Genius G-08XU

You can get a XBOX 360 Controller for PC on eBay for that much. ;)

Another vote for the 360 controller here. They sync up really well with a lot of games. For instance Fallout 3 instantly recognizes it and maps all the controls for you if you start the game with one plugged in.

Exactly. I bought the Wireless one and it works great for GTA4, FIFA 09, and a couple of others. I don't use it for shooters though. :)

Another vote for the 360 controller; they're really not that expensive but they work great and the quality is good.

+1 for the 360 I have 2 of the wireless controllers and they are by far the best game pad I have had and I have a draw full of old controllers.

For the wireless you need one with a PC wireless controller as far as the wired there is no difference.

So what just any normal corded or wireless xbox360 controller will work?

Either will work just fine with the PC; if you go wired, the supplied cable is pretty long too.

Does not matter. It just matters if you want a wire in front of you while playing. If you don't the wireless is about $5 to $10 more on eBay.

I have a Wireless Logitech Rumblepad 2 but if you can afford the 360 controller then I'd get that.

Wireless XBOX360 gamepad is useless on PCs. You only play close to the monitor and PC case, so the wirelesses is just useless.

Depending on where the case is and how & where you choose to "sit" then wireless is great

I've got a logitech rumblepad and I love it. It was kind of a pain getting keys mapped in games like GRID or Devil May Cry 4, but once I did it worked great.

It has always been. Back in the days consoles had only wired controllers, and we would still sit on the couch playing them ! Sure we would trip over the cables and break them all the time, but that was part of the fun wasn't it.

I use my PS3 controller, takes some button reconfigurations on some games but works perfectly, although I agree with most people here that the Xbox 360 Controller is the way to go. It is built into to quite a few games now and is compatible with most.

+1 For the Xbox 360 controller. Though, you'd be amazed at how many people don't realize the controller is meant to be used on a PC as well. I get weird looks all the time.

360 PC Controller seems to be the best bet. Instant support for any of the GFW games.

I'm cheap so I use my old (original) XBOX controller with XBCD drivers and XBOX 360 Controller Emulator.

I used to own the Xbox 360 controller. Since I dislike have the d-pad replaced with an analog stick, I sold it and bought a Logitech Wireless Rumblepad 2. It looks like a PS2 controller and allows me to play games using the PCSX2 emulator too without any hassle. In all the games I've played, the controller has had no problems. Unlike the annoying lack of Xbox 360 controller customizable drivers (if you don't count the third party XBCD), the Rumblepad 2 is supported by Logitech. On top of all that, it's at least $10 cheaper than the Xbox 360 "wireless pad".

Lol that Thrustmaster looks like a cheap ripoff of the 360 controller :D

And that Logitech Wireless Rumblepad 2 is a blatant rip off of a PS2/3 controller! haha
