XBOX 360 Error e 68?

Recommended Posts

I was sorting out my connection on my xbox because it kept coming up about NAT Issues on 1 vs 100 so i was fixing that then when i turned off my xbox and back on it froze on the xbox 360 logo, so i turned off then back on again and it came up with 1 red light on bottom right and with error e 68. I looked it up on google and microsoft say to remove the hard drive and wait then put it back, i done that and its still erroring? I checked all my cables and everything and its still errors.

I had this xbox for about a month and a half now, i got it from asda its the xbox 360 premium. If i take it back to asda will they do a replacement there? or how do i fix this error e 68?

:( Any ideas?

matt.

edit: hmm it won't display the ring anymore its just frozen on the logo. huh ? wth is this?

IIRC E68 is the general hardware fault. I'm not familiar with ASDA, but most retailers will exchange hardware within 30 to 90 days, depending on their policy, if you have the receipt. If not, contact 360 support (I know the US number, but not the UK one) and they will set up service for your unit.

look on the back and see what the power consumption is. Jasper chipsets are rated @ 12.1 amps. You should also have some built in memory for games saves.

The manufacturing date on the unit is 2008-07-10, but the store said to take it in and they will replace it or refund me so im going to go get a replacement later.

Falcon. Better luck with the next one, sounds like the process isn't particularly painful in your case though, which is a good thing.

Nope its the old one again unfortunatly, oh well.

Does this store sell alot of 360's? Strange you got two older ones in a row. MS must've shipped a bunch of the older units in your direction. Anyway, hope you're free of problems from here on out :)

What's stranger is that he got Falcon mid 2009. They shouldn't be selling those anyways anymore. That doesn't smell right.

I was going to get an elite till I heard the 2 game bundle MS was selling had Zephyrs and Falcons. Apparently they were using the bundle deal to clear old inventory. No proof of this as I didn't by one, but just hearing it was enough for me to steer clear of em. Ended up buying an arcade unit and a separate 120GB HDD. $80 less than an elite...Well $69 after I bought an HDMI cable for $11.
