"New" Duke Nukem Forever screens

It never stops: 3D Realms has released a handful of new Duke Nukem Forever images on its Facebook, despite the fact it's now dead in the water.

All sorts of lawsuit wrangling is going on the moment, with publisher Take-Two fighting to get an Xbox 360 version of the game released by another developer, and even revelations that there's another, non-DNF in the works.

We've got a feeling this won't be the last of this.

Once again, the time has come and gone for this game. If it's released, it wouldn't get half the recognition it could have had a couple years back. This game will always be more famous as the game that never came out.

That said, I don't think it'll be a bad release if it ever gets there. The quality does look up to standard.

Each time i see DNF screens for some reason it still gives me hope that the game will be released. I wish the developers/publishers would be clear and just say the game is or isn't coming out.

or at least have a "leak" like Half-Life 2 so we can get to play the game haha

I have to admit I hope some competent company buys the rights to this and finishes it, I loved the original and the screen shots look both great and true to the original.

Smells fishy. I think this is just the dev team showing off what they can do in the hope of finding a new job. This game is dead, but a lot of R&D went into it (I guess), so I imagine that the team behind it could release a stonking game off some sort - they just need stronger leadership to finish the job this time.

They just need to come out and admit that it's never going to be released and let it die. I hope they do actually finish the game and release it, but after all these years it's just become a joke.

heh why not, if it comes out sign me up. the images look too much like something i'd expect from Doom 4, though. Maybe that's not a bad thing. maybe i'll get another MGD now, also not a bad thing.

I can't decide I want this game to be finished, or stay dead. That being said, I'd probably buy it if it was ever released.
looks great actually, but i am not sure if i want it to be released.

well, at least if it gets released, there will be a duke nukem forever at all... like maybe we are just too used to having the non-release of this game as a sort of mythical phenomenon and we'd rather things stay the same, but i really do want to play it

I'm curious as to how many times the game was completely scrapped and re-started from scratch. Remember that trailer that came out a couple of years ago? Remember how it looked like something from the original XBox? Now all of a sudden, 3D Realms is hitting us with something that looks completely different.

And yes, that monster definitely looks inadvertently cute. He looks like he's having a fun time taking a dip in the fourth shot.

Aren't most games in the bargain bin a month later? I know they are around here :p

Games hold little value one day after release, nevermind a month later.

In that case, I should move. Here in Canada, games tend to keep their full price for what seems like an eternity. Hell, even Genji 2 was selling at full price a year after its release (maybe it has something to do with the educational value, lol). With PC games, it's a little more common for prices to drop, but you really have to hunt for sales either way.

Yeah man, a few weeks ago I was in a store here in the UK who aren't exactly known to have competitve prices. But they were selling games only 2 weeks old for like ?15 less than RRP.
