Antaris Veteran Posted July 15, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 15, 2009 You didnt like SA2? I enjoyed SA2 more than the first, in Adventure, there was too much "Adventure", whereas Adventure 2 was more run forward and enjoy, well except the Tails/Robotnik parts. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted July 15, 2009 Author Veteran Share Posted July 15, 2009 Nah I really wasn't interested in the story at all. SA1 on the other hand I thought was amazing apart from the Big the Cat section. The end boss fight was far too easy though, that was a huge let down. Damn now I want to go back and finish SA2 :/ I need to stop reminiscing about games!
Unrealistic
The absolute best sonic game was Sonic CD. I remember having wires everywhere on my floor just to play that game when it first came out. Oh Sonic, how you have forsaken me......
-KJ
I actually enjoyed the recent Sonic demo for 360 that had Sonic running through some Mediterranean location that, uh, I guess hovered over the sea. Am I supposed to hate the game?

Si Veteran Posted July 16, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 16, 2009 Don't you mean Super Sonic? Both exist within Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Y) And also - Sonic 3's level select cheat is the hardest cheat to do ever
Ji@nBing
Unless they are completely re-doing the graphics into HD, this is a skip for me. I'm sick of Sega's lazy ports. Unless it offers me something that I can't already get from numerous emulators (other than achievements), I see no reason to waste money on a game I already have. I wish all companies would go the Bionic Commando route and do HD re-makes of classics. Otherwise it's just a waste of time.

Antaris Veteran Posted July 16, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 16, 2009 Don't you mean Super Sonic? When you play the full S3+K experience, you get to collect the Super Emeralds (only if you manage to collect the Chaos Emeralds first), take a visit to the Emerald Chamber in the Hidden Palace Zone (its the same place you kick the crap out of Knuckles). Once you got all of them, you can go Hyper :D Man, i miss this game, might have to break out the Mega Drive later.... A HD version would be sweet :D

Gio Takahashi
Mmm. Might do another Sonic Marathon, seeing as I have the whole collection on a PS2 CD. Sonic Mega collection + or something?
Aergan
I was disappointed that they omitted Sonic 3 & Knuckles from the Sega Genesis Ultimate collection also, this how you're supposed to play and enjoy the game. Sonic Team have had quite a few moments where the music from the games was used to make proper songs for the cartoons. Another fact is that Michael Jackson was originally involved with the Sonic 3 sound score:

MtnDewCodeRedFreak
Both exist within Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Y) And also - Sonic 3's level select cheat is the hardest cheat to do ever Yeah - the Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up when the Sonic was flying after the SEGA screen. Ugh, I agree. And, yes that same level select cheat existed in S3+K. I also remember the Debug thing in both Sonic 2 and 3/3+K. It is fun to change to anything and then fly off the screen, lol. FunkTrooper
I don't like Sonic 1 because of no spin dash. The Sega Saturn version of the game (included in the Sonic Jam collection) has an optional spin dash for Sonic 1. They also made the Sonic 3 level select easier to enter: you can enter it on the tiltle screen in your own time and it'll work. There were a few other enhancements made to the Saturn versions of the Sonic games, including time attack modes, and different difficulty settings. It's a shame that every re-release since then has just been an emulation of the Mega Drive games... well except the PC Sonic and Knuckles, with its groovy alternative soundtrack! :D

Si Veteran Posted July 17, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 17, 2009 Lol! Did you ever play Knuckles Chaotix on the 32x? Briefly, that's one of the classics I never got to play back in the day. I've got Sonic Jam and Sonic R for Saturn too (along with my precious copies of NiGHTS into dreams and Christmas NiGHTS ) Perhaps its time to indulge in an eBay 32X
Antaris Veteran Posted July 17, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 17, 2009 Ha, NiGHTS was EPIC, in every way. I like they way OSSM (Official Sega Saturn Magazine) gave away Christmas NiGHTS for free, that was pure win. They did the same for the 1st disc of Panzer Dragoon Saga (which, is another EPIC masterpiece)
Unrealistic
Dug mine out - Sonic marathon coming up :D Damn I'm jealous. I have no clue what happened to my old Sega games. Did anyone ever connect their games to the game gear? I used to have Sonic and Knuckles + Sonic 3 on top of my game gear. I looked like a retard, but I enjoyed it for the 2 hours I could get off my 6 AA's. :p
Aergan
I remember having an Action Replay cartridge, Sonic & Knuckles + Sonic 3 all locked on to each other back in the day. I think the local council put in a cease and desist because I had no planning permission. Code creating was a laugh though, they had so much dev content left lying around in that game.
