Dead_Monkey
Damn I'm jealous. I have no clue what happened to my old Sega games.Did anyone ever connect their games to the game gear? I used to have Sonic and Knuckles + Sonic 3 on top of my game gear. I looked like a retard, but I enjoyed it for the 2 hours I could get off my 6 AA's. :p Nomad perhaps? Game Gear was similar to the Master System, not the Genesis/Mega Drive.

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted July 20, 2009 Author Veteran Share Posted July 20, 2009 Well it's supposed to be coming out "summer 2009", but it won't be for the next 5 weeks anyway as Summer of Arcade is about to begin.
Unrealistic
Nomad perhaps? Game Gear was similar to the Master System, not the Genesis/Mega Drive. Nope. This. Imagine this, with Sonic and Knuckles and the cherry on top was Sonic 2 or 3. :D Actually, that may not be what I was talking about. I have no clue what the name is and I can't find it, but I do know it exists.

I have no clue what the name is and I can't find it, but I do know it exists. Genesis/Mega Drive carts don't fit into that though (rounded, the Master System carts were rectangular with cutouts in the corners), and wouldn't work if they did (wrong hardware). I put in many hours with my Master Gear converter...
Unrealistic
There is something out there, I just don't remember what it was. I know I had it though. :/
Aergan
There is something out there, I just don't remember what it was. I know I had it though. :/ GameGear ran the same ROM binaries (Sometimes with slight modifications due to ROM size) as the MasterSystem (Both 8bit console tech). There is an adapter that allows you to play MasterSystem cartridges (Though I don't think it had a GameCard slot for the old MSX V1 games) on the GameGear natively. Genesis/Megadrive is 16bit console tech, it can run MasterSystem/GameGear games natively (Though sound quality is dreadful and causes heck of a load of performance issues) but best to use the official adapter which takes care of this issue. There wasn't an official or 3rd party adapter for the GameGear during the days of SEGA that allows it to play Megadrive games though people have modified GameGears since to do a multitude of things (See google image search). +virtorio MVC Posted July 22, 2009 MVC Share Posted July 22, 2009 I wish they'd release Knuckles Chaotix and Sonic CD on XBLA. I never got to play either of these games.
Aergan
I wish they'd release Knuckles Chaotix and Sonic CD on XBLA.I never got to play either of these games. Me too, never got to own a 32X or a MegaCD add on. I think I had a chance at a MegaCD once but it was the II version and my MegaDrive was an original. These things go for stupid money in Game Station these days.
Unrealistic
Not that I condone it, but Sonic CD is quite easy to find online. Fair warning though...it is the hardest Sonic game out there. Prepare to be frustrated at times. :) And I guess it was the Nomad. My memory sometimes gets the best of me.

Aergan
Should have taken that chance! I have that setup in my spare room :) MegaCD + MegaDrive MegaCD II + MegaDrive II As you can see they are unfortunately very different devices and you couldn't get a cable or PCB adapter for the MegaCD II for the MegaDrive. MegaDrive II works on the MegaCD though, go figure. :( Edit: Apparently most of the MegaCD II's actually fit the original MegaDrive after a bit of searching, which is odd because the two that I've tried with mine have been off on the alignment by a good 8mm, weird. Guess mine is special or they altered the MegaCD II design. Remember a mate of mine having the same issue as me but he swapped his for a MegaDrive II. Si Veteran Posted July 25, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 25, 2009 Yeah there's a little extender bit for the plastic tray they both sit on too, to accomodate the extra width of the original Mega Drive.

To my complete amazement all my save games are still working in S3+K! :| :DSEGA! :&: So jealous of MegaCD II with MegaDrive I. My brother has yet to post me my SEGA PSU and don't want to risk a ?3.99 ASDA/Walmart adapter on it. Need an "fat" AV cable also as my projection TV doesn't have a working RF socket. Sonic 3 saves are stored in non-volatile RAM on the Cartridge so unlike crappy EA Games cartridges, they don't have or need backup batteries inside. Wish MS would hurry up and release this on XBLA! Unrealistic
After talking about Sonic for so long lately, I got bored tonight and decided to remix Sonic 2's Special Stage for the hell of it. I changed a few things, but I think overall it's decent and keeps mostly with the original. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tziom4mhjbd

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted August 30, 2009 Author Veteran Share Posted August 30, 2009 September 9th is the day! August 29th, 2009 @ 17:19 By Stephany Nunneley SEGA has announced that Sonic & Knuckles are hitting Xbox Live on September 9 complete with the cart stacking bonuses of the original title. However, you have to have the original games on XBLA first for it to work. D?toid has provided the full details: ?With Sonic the Hedgehog, you?ll unlock the ?Blue Sphere? bonus Chaos level from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. If you own Sonic the Hedgehog 2, then you?ll be able to play as Knuckles in the game. Playing as Knuckles will let you reach areas that Sonic can?t reach and will include new power-ups too. And with Sonic the Hedgehog 3, you?ll be able to play the game as Knuckles and the design of the game is changed so the experience between Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles feels seamless.? Sounds like something Sonic fans have been waiting for.
