:D We'll be saying the same sort of things when Windows 2005 is released.

"What is this Windows XP?" "Looks like Windows 2000 with a purdy Gooey (GUI)"

My first PC was a Zenith 286 with DOS on it. I upgraded to DR-DOS later on, and then one day I got a Gateway OEM copy of Windows 3.0

It was then that I first experienced the joy of playing Windows Solitaire. :D

My OS order: (:p)

(89-90) Mac something...

(93-95) Windows 3.11 WFW [Packard Bell, lol that comp was crap.]

(96-97) Windows 95 [forget what edition it was]

(98-98) Windows 98FE [came with my emachines package... sucked]

(98-99) Windows ME [heh, came with a compaq computer package]

(99-03) Mandrake Linux 8.1 Beta [for about 3 years - almost forgot everything about Windows...]

(02-03) Windows 2000 Professional [Dual booted it with Man8.2]

(03-03) Windows XP Pro [ugh, made a mistake by installing this...]

(03-now) Windows 98 SE !!

NOW ... I switched to Windows 98 SE and it runs smooth as a baby's ass.

98SE is the best for my (slower) machine :)

Duron 900MHz

512MB SDR PC133

30GB HD

ATi Radeon 7200 64MB SDR

Beautiful boot times.

By the way, I never got to use Win Chicago... was it any good?

I used C64 for a while, then I got a 486 with Windows95, and then a Gateway 450mhz in 1998 with 98. I was running XP the whole time during the betas(Starting in late 2000 I believe), up until now. Sorry M$! :pirate:

Yeah, but why? We've already got Windows Classic.

Unless you can get all the icons in there (a shell32.dll patch) there wouldn't be a point.

This was back in the good old days before the gay start button was but on the taskbar :p

I used to have a copy of a 95 beta, it was pretty cool back in the day on a 25mhz 486 :p

I didnt work on modern hardware or in vmware, and I think I just trashed it resently :(
