The_Decryptor Veteran Posted July 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 19, 2009 I have all of them already, and it's an old deal to boot. HL2:DM came with HL2, then Valve stopped that and started offering it for free to people who owned an ATI or Nvidia card (which is just about everybody), Peggle Extreme came with the Orange Box, then you could grab anyway. Lost Cost is a free Tech Demo that anybody could get. And Portal: First Slice was the same as HL2:DM, needed an Nvidia or ATI card to get it. Edit: HL2:DM needs love, I'd like to see an update to the orange box engine as well as some new, EP2/EP1 styled maps, like the industrial area, citadel, antlion caves and the white forest. cropcircles
Thanks for the link. These are old and it would be nice if Steam could come up with some newer games to demo for its members.

My daughter has it on DS It IS the full version of Peggle Extreme. mr.r9
I have a question. If I downloaded this offer and installed it, can I use HL mods? Like the recent NeoTokyo? Thanks.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted July 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 19, 2009 It depends on the mod, new ones should depend on the "Source SDK Base", so any game that comes with the Source SDK should be able to run a mod (HL2:DM comes with Source SDK). You don't have to install it, just having it on the account is enough, Steam will download the Base if it needs it. If the mod depends on HL2:EP1 though, then you need EP1 (for example)
SuperKid
HL2:DM used to kick ass. Now its starting to seem a bit aged :(I try to play every now and then, but i cant find anyone on the servers that have the maps i used to love. I guess everyone moved onto to newer games. I remember these offers being around for a while thought. I know i signed up for some of them for my cousin like in 2007., I used to play it all the time, i think i got it with Half-Life 2 when it came out.
