ramsy66
I have a 1680x1050 monitor, and I'm going from my 360 to my monitor via VGA. I have set it to 1680x1050 in the console settings, but it has been letterboxed. Surely it shouldn't do this seeing as this is the monitor's native resolution. SMELTN
AFAIK you will always have the letterbox effect on a standard monitor with the higher resolutions
BGM
the vga output cable does not output anything near that resolution unfortunately :( your highest options are 1280x768, 1280x1024 or 1360x768

Trong
Oh geez, no. The reason it's letterboxed is because the 360 is built around a 16:9 ratio(well, and fullscreen) while 1680x1050 is 16:10. In order to prevent stretching, the 360 compensates by letterboxing.
neoadorable
the VGA cable can carry up to 1920X1080. Trong gave you the right answer - the problem is the screen ratio, not resolution. You need a 720 or 1080 screen to avoid those bars, in other words.
ASTRALiNI
Yeah, what Trong said. If you want it to fill the entire screen run it at 1280 x 720. Fills mine that way :) (And yes, my native res is 1680 x 1050)

Dead_Monkey
What's the monitor resolution equivalent of 1080?1920x1080.Most widescreen monitors intended primarily for PC use (rather than video production or sale as a tunerless television) are 16:10 ratio though (1920x1200).
