Burnout Paradise prob

Recommended Posts

Ive been getting this message for 3 days now:

  • An authorization token was not passed from the game/website

that comes up after a few minutes of that connecting screen and then it just sends me back to the offline game. Are the servers just down this weekend? Ive had the game for a month and have never seen this before and I haven't changed anything.

yeah Its legit.

Is this a patch other than the regular update?

Its looking like its something on my end as I don't see and chatter anywhere about servers being down for 3 days. Im just gonna copy my save and reinstall.

That message is weird tho:

An authorization token was not passed from the game/website

authorization token is a new one to me

I seem to recall that being another message for 'your password was not accepted'...might want to check that.

I love Paradise, but they still need to get on the ball with the PC version. Where the hell is my new island? I'm not going to buy it for my 360 copy that I never use then turn around and buy it for the PC when they finally get around to releasing it.

Yes, I realize I'm bitching in a thread with a different topic. Sorry :)

I'm still having a problem with this but now every 3rd time or so it tells me the servers are down instead of that weird authorization token message. Now that's really what it seems like to me because I Ive changed nothing in the way Ive signed in since I bought the game, never even had to think about signing in as it was always automatic and took me to the kind of annoying web page as the game started up. But this is day 5 and Im not seeing any widespread complaints of this as there should be if the servers were really down for 5 days , so I don't know whats going on.

Have you by chance enabled ECN in Vista or 7? I had problems with a select few websites until I disabled that...namely, EAs auth servers.

I know, it's unlikely, but it's worth asking.

As unlikely as it was, it was definitely worth asking because that was it! I had been messing around with that and other various network things about a week ago in a moment of extreme boredom tweaking and completely forgot until I saw ECN in your response, but still just faintly rang a bell. I goggled ECN and it all came back to me in a rush and I knew instantly that you were right. I even had the page I was reading that day bookmarked...d'oh! How weird..a pretty obscure thing to tweak and you nailed it. Works perfectly now, thank you very much! :punk:
