[Re-Updated] NXE Update - Now Available

The custom resolutions are what I really wanted, too. I would love to force my TV to 1366*768 (via HDMI) since it doesn't auto detect that resolution.

I would love to buy some of the stuff in the avatar marketplace but I agree 95% of that stuff is over priced! You should get the GoW stuff for free if you beat the campaign or something. Other wise the update is not feature rich but has had alot of work in the performance of the GUI and overall I am ver pleased with the update. I was in the preview like almost everyone here so nothing changed when the final was pushed. Hopefully they do a preview for the fall update as well. ;)

Prices are crazy but still had to get something so I got the storm trooper helmet and guitar. Does anyone know if any older games such as COD4 or even Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will get updates to allow the unlockable reward costumes? Is there even a list anywhere for games that will be updated? Or is this for upcoming new games only?

^ I wouldn't count on it. You can probably expect MS published games from the last few years to get some content, but I think most 3rd party studios will just work towards their next title.

I'm not sure its even possible, you know. Patches are limited in size and I have no idea how big an Avatar item is. Probably not that big, but when you include how big the patch is, who knows?

Hopefully we'll get some cool content.

I bought the COG outfit (obviously, as you can see from my signature)... they're expensive, yeah, but I had MS points I wasn't going to use on anything else.

I suppose that is the intent. I'm willing to bet that a lot of people are going to unload their extra Microsoft points on avatar costumes, since you can't really buy anything else with 200 points. Sure, you can buy more points and have them added to your overall total, but the temptation to unload those low numbers of points may be too strong to ignore for many.

I haven't downloaded the update yet. I'll do it tonight, but I'm definitely interested in the Games on Demand feature. As lazy as it sounds, not having to put a disk in the tray is pretty nice...

Netflix update is great. Other than that I had read and heard that overall it was much speedier, so I am really starting to question if something is up with my 360. I still without a doubt have a freeze when I bring up the guide, and was opening that would finally be settled. :(

My mother always said if I had nothing nice to say do not say anything at all, so for once I am going to listen to her and say no comment about the Avatar Marketplace.

Tried clearing your cache, DL?

Hmm, No I have not. Actually now that you mention it I have not done that yet on this console (fairly new) but more in particular with this HDD (have had since XMas).

Good call. Let me try that, no big deal if I have to re-download game updates.

Will report back.

So that definitely seems to have helped a tad, so thanks for the suggestion Kushan. (Y) I still feel like it was definitely "snappier" at some point, but I will take the small improvement for sure.

Checked MajorNelson's blog post about tenure. He answered a lot of people's questions about various tenure issues. My question still goes unaswered though, I have no clue why mine still isn't correct. It has mine going back three years ago from when it looks like I started using my personal Visa debit card. There is years missing in there when I was using my parent's Visa card. I know I've had XBL longer because I still remember playing Halo 2 on the original Xbox.

I know it is a little feature but it is something that makes you stand out and when it can't be displayed right, it just bugs me.

I think it just show how long you have been a gold member which was not around before the 360. I too have had XBL going back to even before Halo 2 but the number it shows on my gamer card is accurate going back to when I got a 360 and officially became a gold member.

No, years before 360 should counted as gold because you were a paying subscriber. Mine correctly states 6 years, as I was a beta tester for XBL starting October 2002, so I'm guessing it'll change to 7 come that time this year.

I am confused with this XBL gold thing as I too wa a beta tester, I have had a 360 since before release date (I was a launch team advocate (PGR3) and had a 360 here in the UK at the same time as launch in the US) as well as being present in the Live trials for the xbox 1, so really and truly should have 6 years, I dont know why mine shows 3 :(

Why does it matter to you so much?
