Pc_Madness
Hey guys, my credit card is set to expire at the end of this month, and Xbox Live at the middle of August, which is currently set to auto renewal. Apparently theres no way to turn it off on the website, can I just let the card expire and they won't auto renew (they're warning me about my card expiring)? Or will they have a major hissy? Cheers
(Spork)
i would call them close the account and let the time run out
Guyro
could you not ask your bank to cancel the payments?
Dead_Monkey
If the card is going to be automatically reissued with the same account number but a different expiration date, the payments may continue going through depending on your specific bank's policies. You can call and have them remove the card from the account, which won't automatically kill your account in any case, but when your current gold subscription dies you will drop to silver (and you can bring it back to gold at any time with a prepaid card or whatever). Sethos
Call Microsoft and have them stop the auto-renewing or buy a Gold Subscription card ( 1 / 3 / 6 / 12 / 12+1 months ), add it and the auto-renew is disabled.
shihchiun
Call Microsoft and cancel, just to be safe.
MR_Candyman
can't you just demote it to silver?
Dead_Monkey
can't you just demote it to silver? That's what happens when you cancel. AFAIK, accounts don't go away anymore.
MR_Candyman
http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xbox...tegory=xboxlive ya, only way is to get a gold card and let it expire. If you just let your credit card expire you'll carry an outstanding balance

gigapixels Veteran Posted July 24, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 24, 2009 Go to xbox.com > My Account > Manage Payment Options and remove the card. That might remove auto-renewal.

+dnast Subscriber² Posted July 24, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted July 24, 2009 You pretty much have to call and repeatedly explain to them why you are cancelling...

bolerodan
I had to do this. Although it wasnt painful. I thought I could remove the CC from the site but had the same issue since it is currently in use. What you have to do is call Xbox live, ask them to "Turn off auto renewal" and to stop your xbox live monthly. Then once thats done, you can go onto your account online and THEN be able to delete the CC through the website.
ozgeek
Yep I can confirm that you need to call the Xbox Since you are an fellow aussie ;), use this number it's for Australian Xbox support centre: 1800 555 741 Just go through the computer voice menus until you get billing. I did this after signing up to the $1 a month offer and it works great. And my account is still on gold due to having my 360 back from repairs (free 1 month). James123
http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/07/29/...to-renewal.aspxHere you go :) Thank you! :D I've been meaning to cancel my XBOX Live account for ages but never bothered because you used to have to phone them. Didn't realise they've finally added an option to do it online... which they should have had from the start.
