What happens if I rate badly on a Halo 3 player?

Recommended Posts

Some people has been jerks all morning on Halo 3 multiplayer. I send them bad reputition ("Avoid this player") for anti-gameplay behaviour. What happens to them?

This morning I was this [-------] close from scoring a flag on Last Resort when a jerk on my team killed me and scored the flag himself!! I did practically very well that round!

LOL..

Honestly, I send so many people bad feedback on Xbox Live on Call of Duty: WaW. I also mute every single person that annoys me with screaming, cheating, etc. I see random muted people every now and then, so it doesn't completely blacklist them, just makes it harder for them to join your room if there are alot of people in match making.

It does affect their rep, if you rate them negatively in certain categories. I'm about 76% avoided.. :/

Nothing. The feedback/rep system is a joke. It takes an insane amount of people leaving bad feedback for Microsoft to finally issue a ban.

That is if you report somebody. Even after that, it takes a large number to finally issue a suspension, unless it is a profile content issue.

I once rated a newbie negative feedback, he went from 3/5 stars to 5/5 with negative feedback... Wtf?

He had probably gotten good feedback that it never updated, and you made it update his rep by rating.

I have a buddy that likes to get drunk and yell random racist comments/obscenities and he still hasn't been banned, even after what must be a million complaints :p

Yes it does, that's what the 5 stars are for.

Wrong. it even says in the dialog where you avoid them that it doesn't affect their rep.

Avoiding them alone doesn't affect their rep. You can rep someone up and avoid them at the same time, or you can rep them down and avoid them.

He'll probably leave you an angry message filled with swearing, racism and incomprehensible grammar.

People don't know who is rating them or how. Or even who is muting them.

I have one of those friends too, he's also on Neowin as well.

I wonder if he'll read this message and shout abuse at me later :p

don't feel bad about avoiding someone, it doesn't do anything except make it unlikely you'll run into them again - as posted early in this thread. don't know what happens when you file a report on someone - only did this twice and MS never contacted me about it.

i get drunk while gaming online all the time, often mixed with medication... but i never get obnoxious. at least not that i remember.

A feedback system overhaul is something I would like to see in a dashboard update. Id love to see comment blocks where you can give more specific details on what happened in the game. I would like the ability to view other gamers reps as well. Stricter penalties for offenders would be nice as well. The ability to have more than the couple hundred people on your mute list at any given time would be welcome as well because chances are if I mute you, I never want to hear you again. Allow the feedback system to be navigated with one hand via button presses and leaving joystick navigation optional, is also something I would like to see.
