UzEE
Don't know if anyone else had tried it or not, but I just popped in and installed my old Gears of Wars to test it out on Windows 7 and it doesn't work. All I get is a VC++ Runtime Error. It used to work great on Windows XP but no matter what I try, it doesn't work under Win7 at all. Anyone had any luck if they had tried it? Yusuf M. Veteran Posted July 28, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 28, 2009 Here's what you should try: Unininstall Gears of War. Download and install the latest Catalyst drivers from here. Update your DirectX by downloading and installing the latest end-user runtime via the web installer from here. Install Gears of War. Install the Gears of War update (Direct Link) If all else fails, reinstall Microsoft Visual C++: x86 | x64.
deletedxyz
I don't get it? http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/29/gears-of...es-breaks-game/ Just following Anaron's instructions and you'll certainly be able to play GoW.
Treemonkeys
I had to set the computer clock back to 2007, run the game, set it back to the current time, and then update the game - but after all that it is working fine on Windows 7 for me.
