Here are my results , running on a Q6600 (3GHz) with 4Gb of RAM I wonder if this is as good as a early 2008 Mac Pro

trag3dy
Did you guys actually buy the program? For me it's saying I can't use the 64-bit version unless I buy it. 20 bucks to see my computers actual score is a big fat no thanks. And why is this in the mac section? I'd think the hardware hangout would be more suitable.
TEX4S
First I ever heard about this program -- But if you have to pay for the x64 version - then Im with trag3dy - forget it
OnePostWonder
Hmm, seems neat enough, but for something that costs? No way I'm EVER spending money on a benchmark! Though I think I may start a thread for NovaBench.
+KibosJ Subscriber² Posted July 30, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted July 30, 2009 I should get my Q9550 today for my PC so I will attempt to load Leopard onto the PC and see what I get then :) For now though, my crappy little Toshiba Laptop:
svnO.o
Don't know why GeekBench always reports 3.4GHz as the CPU frequency when mines OC'd to 3.72GHz ATM.
Comic Book Guy
I wonder how different my score would be, if I was running Win7?
Steeley
I don't have a Mac, would never get one, but here is my Geekbench score:<snipped> Just a tip mate, your screenshots would look nicer if you took the red border off them. You can do that by clicking the 'tools' or 'setup' or whatever button it is when you load up the snipping tool. Not sure if I have a different version of geekbench, but mine is all coloured bars so it's too long to post. My score is 4411. System info as follows:-

I've never been in the Options menu for the Windows Snipping Tool, until right now, so I didn't know it was possible to remove the red "ink". Anyways, it's done now, so we'll see the next time I take a snipe.

Comic Book Guy
Geekbench seems to be really weird, it's reporting your memory's operating speed, but as you can see in my pics, it's reporting my memory's operationg speed @ 0MHz.

KoL Veteran Posted July 31, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 31, 2009 I expected a much higher score from your Mac Pro considering the extra CPU and higher clock speed. :o From what I've seen the scores of the 2009 Mac Pro Quad-Core 2.66GHz and the 2008 Mac Pro 8-Core 2.8Ghz are pretty close. The 2008 2.8Ghz 8-cores slightly faster than the quad 2009 one.

They seem more or less equally matched. There are some areas where the 2.66 GHz Quad performs better and others where the 2.8 GHz 8-Core is faster. Comic Book Guy
My results: Why do you have an x32 OS with 8GB of RAM, when x32 will only use 3GB of that, you should really upgrade to Vista x64.
