PC players will get neither the Prestige or Hardened Modern Warfare packs, according to BigDownload.

The Prestige effort is the night goggles box, while the Hardened edition includes a behind-the-scenes DVD, an art book and a code to download the first Call of Duty game.

No reason?s been given. Hit the link for more. It?s out in November.

Because PC gamers are treated like scum these days and the console tards are getting all the love, there's a lot of money to be had from the console gamers. - True story.

To be fair, a LOT of PC gamers brought the scum treatment upon themselves (and the rest of us) by pirating every game that comes out. Why would the publisher spend loads of money on making these box sets when they won't get bought anyway?

I was kinda wanting to get the Hardened Edition for my PC, but ah well. At least we're getting the game at all!

To much Piracy on the PC has really affected developers perceptions of the platform. They are unwilling to go above and beyond what is necessary for the PC platform. Just give them the bare minimum and call it a day.

This makes me sad, as someone that buys all the games I play it frustrates me to see developers doing this. At-least we are still getting the game even if we don't get the night vision goggles. :'(

Yeah and releasing crap pc ports is the kind of thing that LEADS to piracy.

Fair point but its not like the special editions are anything extra software wise. They are physical things that can't be downloaded.... can't pirate them! Tis a shame as i was seriously considering getting one of the special editions, guess i can save that money for something else now.

Oh well. I actually considered buying the special edition for PC, but that's going to be impossible now. It's a shame really because I've never bought any special/collector's edition of any game.

Good. Everyone should be using a console for games by now :p

Playing fps games without a mouse and keyboard sucks though.

I was considering buying a hardened edition for the PC too. Odd that they would pass up an extra bit of cash by not having the special editions for the pc.

PC gaming is in a dumper because of hacking, pirating, cheating in multiplayer games and really don't warrant any serious investment anymore. I was a LOOONG time PC gamer and I lost patience and will to keep upgrading my graphics cards every few months for hundreds of dollars, get owned by frustrated kids who install aimbots and wallhacks and keep hacking the game to use it like that..

It's really not a shocker and if I was them I wouldn't invest into anything beyond the game itself on PC.

I am still trying to decide if I should get it for the PC or for the Xbox... I like some of you are a LONG time PC gamer, and love FPS's on mouse/keyboard, but I also haven't really spent the time to learn how to play them on the xbox.

But I do agree PC gamers have done it to ourselves by pirating everything and cheating, etc.

Oh well, it doesn't matter anyways. The store I "buy" my games from don't include box art or anything else, only the image of the game... I mean, the discs of the game.

To all those Neowin members who say pc pirates aren't causing harm to the platform, here's your local resident to bi*ch at :p

I wasn't gonna waste my money on the Prestige Edition anyway. Hardened might have been nice though.

And I think the piracy issue is a moot point when you talk about games like CoD. Most people playing it are playing online and you need a valid key to play online. Yeah there's cracked servers and hamachi and crap like that, but who's gonna bother going through all that hassle and get a sub-par online experience?

Exactly! Not like I was going to spend all of that extra money on some stupid toy night vision...

And agreed on the piracy aspect, though not all of us care to play online ;) CombatArms FTW

Well if anything I would imagine special editions and bonus content may be the sort of thing that would get a few more people interested in buying the special edition over downloading the game. As long as it's not priced stupidly special editions on any platform can sell quite well. The Bioshock one I got had sold out before release date for instance around here (edit: that was a PC version).

When they already have the special editions for consoles I doubt it'd cost them a lot more at all to add the same content to the PC release and potentially add a bit of an incentive to buy the thing.

You either where trying to keep up with the latest and greatest components or it's been awhile since you were a PC gamer because it's much better now. Very capable gaming video cards for approx $100 that can last you for more than a year. Same for the rest of PC components, cheap. I've been PC gaming forever, while I've encounter hackers thoughout the years its never pushed me to the point to give up my favorite gaming platform.

OT, like someone else said who cares about those added toys except the kids who play consoles. I just want the game and I want it to play it on the platform that will provide the best gaming experience which is the PC.

Don't you mean resolution instead of experience :p?

The experience on consoles is much better for me... no frame drops, no driver problems, no hardware upgrades. Not to mention the big ass TV instead of a "small" LCD screen.

HDTV + PC + 1920x1200 or 2560x1600 gaming = Xbox 360 + HDTV price wise.

A PC will have extra features if you count MS Office, AutoCAD and other applications as expensive DLC's. :p

Why would you want a HDTV with your PC?
