Julienprz
Hi there, As they explain here: Apple support discussions People have some slowdown airport/wifi issue after updating to 10.5.8. They talk about an halfed bandwith on battery compares to a normal bandwith on power adapter: as seen on the thread "// on power... 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=2.930 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=2.126 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=3.434 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=2.325 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=2.036 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=3.036 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=2.180 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=3.100 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=8 ttl=64 time=1.821 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=9 ttl=64 time=2.008 ms // on battery... 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=10 ttl=64 time=245.190 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=11 ttl=64 time=172.162 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=12 ttl=64 time=93.776 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=14 ttl=64 time=235.040 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=15 ttl=64 time=168.364 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=18 ttl=64 time=226.567 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=19 ttl=64 time=163.696 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=21 ttl=64 time=604.404 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=22 ttl=64 time=219.934 ms 64 bytes from 10.0.1.1: icmp_seq=23 ttl=64 time=99.750 ms" It seems to vary between the MB models from 2006 to 2009. .Neo
I've heard from multiple people they're experiencing the same problem. Apple messed things up it seems.
Miuku.
Tested 10.5.8 with a 2007 Spring/Summer Macbook Pro 15", I can't replicate the issue. Normal pings, normal speeds (note that this was a fresh install with 10.5.8 dropped on top from a cloned image).
