.Neo
It's finally possible to rip commercial Blu-ray discs under Mac OS X, thanks to a free application called MakeMKV. General requirements Mac computer with an Intel processor Mac OS X v10.4 or later Blu-ray optical drive connected through S-ATA The application works by exporting video and audio tracks to a MKV-container. At the time of this writing it seems to work with most commercial Blu-ray discs except those secured with BD+. The exported files can be played with a media player like Plex. It doesn't feature the most aesthetically pleasing interface you'll find on Mac OS X, but it's better than nothing. http://www.makemkv.com/download/ Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I thought I'd share this with you all. Windows and Linux versions also available.

.Neo
Apple won't be releasing Blu-ray upgrade kits for older Macs. Except for the Mac Pro probably.
