I would of tried but I was late to the beta code game last month and was utterly frustrated by Simtropolis' find the code deal. Mostly cause I was late and all the obvious ones were found.

If user invites ever start put me on that list. Alot of people are hoping this will replace their worn out Simcity 4 disks.

Also aren't you under NDA if you're a beta tester?

I'll get it when it comes out on october 8th. It looks like a BIG step up for sim city 4. which it obviously should as it's about a million years newer.

It definitely looks promising judging by the first screenshots. Besides, good city simulations are quite rare these days (SimCity 4 was probably the last good one) and any new announcement is appreciated.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

As a fan of SimCity i'm looking forward to this. It'll be nice to see a new city simulator. And hopefully CitiesXL is good and sells well because it might finally give EA/Maxis a kick up the backside and make them work on a proper sequel to SimCity 4.

master2k27 can you tell me if it includes managing utilities like garbage, water and power? I haven't heard too much about these aspects and it wouldn't really be a proper simulator without them.

There are utlilties for garbage and power. but water and fuel there will be maps witch will have more fuel then water, so you need to trade with other users.

there is public trasnportation but that's not been put in the game i will tell you when its in the game. you can edit how many lines are per road 2 up 3 down ect.

there will also be weathers, businesses which you can control and improve like a ski resort and beach.

on and about my NDA im only saying stuff which has all ready been said by MC.

I'm a little peeved.

I signed up for beta on day one, and they didn't send me an invite. :/

they giving them out all the time keep checking. and i can say the beta has lots of problems like 3GB memory usage and 100% on 1 and onley core. but there will be multi core soon, how many we don't know more then 2 please :p

This game looks absolutely gorgeous. Obviously gameplay is a huge deal for simcity veterans. The fuel concept seems interesting, needs more detail.

How the mmo features are implemented and priced will make or break it for me though.

I'm in the beta, and I'm loving it :) I love the idea of curved roads and have made a couple of cities now where its one big circle spread out around the city hall. With concentric rings of roads with houses in the middle. Looks very cool. I'm just having trouble getting the money balance right so I can keep growing. It's tricky.

It also has a SP mode.

The final game will do, the beta doesn't.

What about zoning? Are there density restrictions? Are there new types of zones? And you're cities are huge. I assume this game is easier than SC4 in creating sprawling metropolis'

there is diffrent types of zones. 1 2 3 4 (wealth) low med high (zone) Heavy indersty, manfaturing, high tech (low med high) 4 types of farms. retail (low med high) and office (low med high)

hotels zones and business hotel zones. 50% of them have super size type

there is low detail mode on that game where cars are gray blocks and trees are pixlated blocks.

Forgive my spelling :p

Interesting. So it won't be exactly like SimCity 4 where you plop down RCI (residential, commercial, industrial) and let the simulator handle the rest. I'm sort of queasy about extreme zone micromanagement but I'm willing to give this a shot.

What are your specs and hows your fps?
