Steven Spielberg Set To Bring Halo To The Big-Screen?

good inglorious basterds insert ther razorwing. other than that, any halo movie would be welcome, why not? i just hope he doesn't cutie it up like he did war of the worlds, which was still ok, just not as gritty as hoped for.

with spielberg on the side, it is good but if spielberg is directing... i dunno. he has lost his touch for directing (new indiana jones movie)

Except a director (in most cases) can only be as good as the script he's given to direct. While I enjoyed Indy 4 (it was just a fun Indy film) the script was very basic and except for a few select scenes did nothing for the Indy mythology etc.

That being said, if Spielberg actually directs a Halo movie, I think I'll poop myself in shock.

I think that had more to do with Lucas than Spielberg. Lucas could make any director look bad.

Oh dear God no, just no....

Why? Bay directing would guarantee incredible action, those giant robots you fought in Halo 3 and insane special effects. I'd like him to be attached, just as long as there's a quality screenplay.

I personally didn't like that whole "realism" look to Halo that Peter Jackson/Neil Blokamp did for shorts and were planning to do for the movie.

THis isn't a documentary, it isn't real life and I think that Spielberg is actually much more suited to give us that great experience.

Spielberg I am ok with, in fact I would be over the moon with, Bay on the other hand can stay the hell away from Halo as far as I am concerned...

The thing is I will not doubt Bay's ability to blow **** up but I would much rather have WETA in control of visual effects at the helm of Jackson and Spielberg directing in order to maintain a good story and quality level acting. This is of course just how I would like it. Bay just does not do it for me and after Transformers Revenge of the Fallen he really needs to stay away from any kind of plot.

As for the realism I loved it but I will be honest that did not satisfy my "epic" meter in terms of what I always expected a Halo movie to be. But then we must keep in mind that those were just tasters of what it could have been and undoubtedly it would have been a lot better then what was shown.

But for Bay to be directing it on his own. dear God no....

While I don't REALLY mind Spielberg doing this, although his recent movies have been pretty 'meh', I don't like the proposals for the sequals. He is skipping a good 40% of the story when he mentions the 3rd movie title, if that is in fact how it will work. The only possible way these three movies would make sense is if the second movie was both The Flood and First Contact, and the third movie is both Halo 2 and Halo 3 combined. Not to mention we have Contact Harvest sitting around for some good Johnson character development and then Ghosts of Onyx which happens parallel to the Halo 2 game.
