Minifig
Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time. If these reports are true, which, due to conflicting reports.. I'm finding it hard to believe... -- I'm going to be crushed. I love the environment, the way it plays, the way it looks, the way you can just get lost and do nothing for hours. It's such an amazing game. I think we should start petitioning Bethesda for ESV.

soniqstylz
It's funny how whenever a developer announces another iteration of a long-running franchise, people complain about how they're greedy for cash. Now, when a developer is stating that they're not planning an iteration of a long-running franchise, people are criticizing them for making a poor financial choice. Those devs just can't win, can they?I'm interested to see what they'll make now, since Fallout: New Vegas isn't being handled by Bethesda. Depends on the game. ES games generally have a new storyline in a new part of the gameworld, but the same overall universe, same lore. Same thing with fallout, same thing with the 6th-gen GTA series. MytMowse
we all know they're working on another elder scrolls. They always try to protect themselves by saying they're not working on it. When we all know they are.

And more on topic, if they aren't working on TES:V then what the hell are they up to? Obsidian is working on the new Fallout.

HeartsOfWar
Actually, that quote is quite infamous for Todd Howard, and someone always mis-prints it. He said, "no current plans", which doesn't mean there won't be one; It means they're mainly focused on a different game right now. You can bet, ESV is going to happen... Ji@nBing
I'm sure they'll get back to doing another one eventually. They just feel like doing something else right now, which is understandable.
Sam Symons Veteran Posted August 15, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 15, 2009 Aw man! I read an interview a while ago saying that they'll get onto it once they finished Fallout 3... I'm disappointed :( The Elder Scrolls is definitely my favourite game series.
Tharp Daddy
Never played Oblivion, i heard that the creatures level up with you, and i don't like that.. i like being able to get insanely OP by late game and just decimate everything. Also, i don't like the fact if you don't hold back on leveling certain skills it will become too tough or some such, seems like theres to much going on to just jump into it, and play. Richard Hammond
^ What I'm saying is people will expect more from ES5 then what they had in ES4. So it has to be better graphics better story, dialogs and the whole enchilada. Which by any means can't fit in a single DVD, ES 4 was 7.3 Gig in size and Xbox 360 disk can hold only 8.5 Gig max. Also the article you referred too was almost a year old and he said "potentially". Actually 7.3Gb is about the max size any game can be, 1Gb of an Xbox 360 DVD is reserved for runtimes/os stuff and the like i iirc.
