Shadrack
See attached image. I noticed this a few weeks ago, but haven't been playing my xbox a lot. I thought it had something to do with an update but I can't seem to fix it. I've tried cleaning the connector and I still get it. The colors (especially where there are gradients) are really off, and there are lines that flicker across the screen. It does it with my Component cables as well as my VGA cables. The problem sometimes will momentarily go away if I change my resolution, but a few moments later will come back. Other things attached to my TV work fine. My XBox is really out of warranty. I originally purchased in April '06 (doubt I still have the receipt anywhere). I got a RRoD later that summer sent it to Microsoft, and I've been using the refurbished unit ever since. The manufactured date on the refurb unit is October 2005. It seems like a cable issue to me but some searching on Google reveals threads that suggest it is will likely lead to a RRoD. Will Microsoft still service my console if I do get a RRoD? I'd hate to have to buy a new one... Thanks for your input. -Shad
Minifig
-Shad Does it do it when you plug it into another tv with the same cable? If so .. it may be the cable going out.
NoLiMiT06
Just trade it in for a arcade and keep your HDD, thats what I did and got $70 for it. Paid $130 for my new arcade and could not be happier :D
Shadrack
Ohhh. That's a good idea. Who did you trade it with? Gamestop? Do they take it even if it is defective or did you not mention this?
NoLiMiT06
Gamestop yes, all they do is turn it on to see if it works. It's worth a shot though. BTW $70 is if you have a wireless controller and $60 if wired. And if you have a edge card you get nothing extra :( Let me know how it goes for you.
