ToneKnee
Not sure what's going on since I don't get this from any other games, especially FPS, but CoD4 gives me really bad eye strain straight away, I need to keep rubbing my eyes, makes it really uncomfortable and unplayable! :( I get this on my brothers computer as well and I'm just wondering if anyone else gets this? CrashG
Nope, no problem with it here. I'll play for an hour or two and it doesn't bother my eyes.
ToneKnee
I've asked my brother and he gets it as well, which is really strange. I've messed around with settings like turning Dual cards off, V-sync on and off and Depth of View etc, nothing works.
master2k27
playing in low light? too close to the screen?
Pupik
Nope, never happened to me when I played COD4. I also find it strange that some people get seasick, when playing some game. I did get seasick when I rode buses and on back seat in cars, but never from a game (or now that I drive a car).
ToneKnee
playing in low light?too close to the screen? Nope, viewing distance is fine, and it's day light at the moment. I don't get this problem with other games, just CoD4. Nope, never happened to me when I played COD4. I also find it strange that some people get seasick, when playing some game.I did get seasick when I rode buses and on back seat in cars, but never from a game (or now that I drive a car). I had this problem years ago with a certain 3DFX driver when playing Counter Strike, very weird.
DanManIt
That's really strange that it only happens for this game. It must be the way the animations are done, they must put some extra stress on your eyes.
+Mystic MVC Posted August 19, 2009 MVC Share Posted August 19, 2009 Or you might just be concentrating harder on a game you like more. In between every couple of games try using eye drops and overall...remember to blink! :p
trag3dy
When I first started playing CoD I got headaches after about 20-30 minutes of playing. For me, turning off the depth of field really helped. I've never experienced anything like it in any other game, too.
ozgeek
No doesn't happen to me. Infact I just finished the last few levels on Veteran. No problems here. I don't get how people can get sick from playing moving games like car -racing or FPS. Do you ever get sick by just walking?
Sil3nt
I'm guessing it might have to do with the motion blur?
-Clark-
Are your monitors tiny? Try a different refresh rate/resolution.
veritas310
It happens to me a little in COD4, none of my other FPS (CS 1.6/Source/L4D), but I did get nauseous from Half-life 2 lol.
trag3dy
I'm guessing it might have to do with the motion blur? Not for me, the motion blur in Crysis doesn't bother me at all.
BoneyardBrew Member Posted August 20, 2009 Member Share Posted August 20, 2009 For some reason the same thing seems to happen to me while playing Fallout 3. In certain lighting (in-game), I tend to lose focus and I end up straining my eyes trying to see what's on the screen. I don't really experience this in any other game, although sometimes while reading on the computer I strain my eyes because of the bright background. toadeater
That's really strange that it only happens for this game. It must be the way the animations are done, they must put some extra stress on your eyes. You know, I think it's the flashbangs and concussion effects used in the game. In singleplayer it's ok, but in multiplayer they happen so often that it starts to become a physical assault after a few hours of non-stop play.
