LOC Veteran Posted August 17, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 17, 2009 An update to the official FAQ for APB: All Points Bulletin has word that the PC version of the game will be free to play and an update to another FAQ puts some doubt into the idea that the console version of Realtime Worlds shooter is still in development. How much will APB cost? The actual price for the game itself is still under discussion but we?ll keep you up to date. We can confirm that APB will not require a monthly subscription. Will there be console ports? Or a Linux or Mac client?b> We?re evaluating opportunities for a console port of APB but there?s nothing concrete to announce at the moment. There will not be a Linux or Mac version of the game. Source Soooo APB will be a buy to play game instead of pay to play. Not bad, not bad. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they canned the console versions either. The only viable console version I could even remotely see work would be a PS3 version (because of the keyboard and mouse). Yusuf M. Veteran Posted August 17, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 17, 2009 That's great news. The game looks like it could be fun. The online sandbox concept is great. I'd definitely give it a try.
Spookie
Soooo APB will be a buy to play game instead of pay to play. Not bad, not bad. I'm incredibly skeptical of a "free-to-play" system. They mostly consist of free-to-play...the-tutorial-then-micro-transactions-buy-you-the-game. We've also seen a scant amount of details for a game so far along in development. Still, we'll see I guess!
Richard Hammond
Will more than likely be microtransaction based to get the good stuff and will be plastered with ingame advertising on every wall and billboard.

Glowstick
There never was a console version announced, so there's none to be canned. They're up for considering one, after the main release on the PC.

Pupik
Just got this email after signing up for the beta about two weeks ago: APB Beta ApplicantsClick here to confirm your subscription to our list. If you received this email by mistake, simply delete it. You won't be subscribed if you don't click the confirmation link above. For questions about this list, please contact:: support@apb.com And I clicked the "Click here to confirm your subscription..." (which linked to: http://apb.us1.list-manage.com/subscribe/c...letterslisthere ). Now did I just subscribed to their spam, or does it somehow brings me closer to entering the beta itself?
