what
I bet it doesn't. I bet it'll be riddled with connection issues and will be filled with microtransactions. But we'll see - if it knocks CoD off the top spots I'm all for it.
Astra.Xtreme
I sure as hell hope it won't take a full clip to take somebody down again. Bad Company was great, but the hit detection sucked horribly and ruined the game for me. Fix that and it will give COD a run for its money. habnad
Well at least there's a solid release date. Unless it was said before and I missed it. As for best online experience, yeah they have to sort out the server and connection issues that plagued both BF:BC and BF1943 before calling it that. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted August 18, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 18, 2009 Only for you consoles that is, for pc's servers are managed by normal gamers hosted by data centers. So are the console versions, there goes your argument... Battlefield lags so much because there is always an overwhelming surge of players buying the game! The same thing happened to Halo 3 and CoD4. And you can bet that ODST and MW2 will be the same. Hell those two games brought XBL down the last time because there was so many people signing up for the service. I guess we can't call CoD the best online experience now, aww :( :p ;) You guys can slate it all you like, but love it or hate it BF is one of the top dogs in MP. And finally a release date! And an epic one at that, the day before my birthday, ka ching :D
Ji@nBing
No way in hell it's going to be better than MW2. No way in hell it's even going to be better than CoD4. Sorry.
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted August 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 19, 2009 I happen to hope he is right, as if I had to choose, I would personally choose the BF Series over COD for MP if I could only play one. That is the beauty of the world though, we have choice, so we can play both, but I do prefer the overall game-play of BF as I happen to really love the inclusion of vehicles, and good vehicle combat at that. I also have played the BF series since 1942 on the PC, so historically speaking it is my favorite MP. With that said I do think a comment like this is just not needed and a bit arrogant, but that is the nature of video game marketing these games it seems. Not to mention it is just completely stupid of them to try and dismiss COD as it is great as well.
+Mystic MVC Posted August 19, 2009 MVC Share Posted August 19, 2009 He definitely has a right to say it but when you lead with those kind of expectations, the game better show some results. The original was a pretty great new IP even though I never got to play it as much as I wanted to (dang COD4 :p). Hopefully by March, I'll have some free time to give the sequel the attention it hopefully deserves.
Boz
No way in hell it's going to be better than MW2. No way in hell it's even going to be better than CoD4. Sorry. Well it might be better because Battlefield franchise has much more going for it than Modern Warfare 2. For example, you'll have full scale war happening with vehicles, parachutes, planes, choppers and if they really have 46 customizable weapons that will definitely give everyone a run for their money. But they really need to bring at least 32 multiplayer matches if not 64 player (32 each side) and make the battlefields larger. It does have potential to be on of the best war MPs so far. Of course Modern Warfare 2 will definitely be a huge contender. So we'll just have to wait and see if they live up to the expectations.
Digitalx
Bet it's going to be a fail still compared to bf2 and bfv and 1942 really. It's shame dice have lost the plot really and diluted and ruined what was a good series.
Tech Star
I hope it lives up to what he says because CoD4 is really fun to play (except when cheaters are playing). I have been watching the game for a while and I am glad that it is coming out on the PC. :D

MistaT40
So many MP shooters - what to get? I'm still debating between 3 of them - I guess March will tell. The thing for me was that the gameplay of COD4 was just better than BF.

DirtyLarry Veteran Posted September 30, 2009 Veteran Share Posted September 30, 2009 <snipped> DAMN The graphics look noticeably better than BC1. Wow. Damn. Watching that made me think Modern Warfare 2 what? (Yes, I prefer Battlefield over COD overall, I like the addition of vehicles) Also I could not help but think when the tank drives by in the video, that there I was. Anyone who has played with me will know what I mean.
