EA/DICE just made a really bold statement about Bad Company 2

Holy crap that Frostbite engine is coming on a real treat :o

Yeah it really is. At about the :35 second mark, the box/crate on the left hand side, the way it splinters is just kick ass and definitely a bit more detailed than it used to be.

The first thing I noticed was how good the character animations look. It almost looks like a SP game.

Also, points for ammo drops!

I have seen videos of interviews from Dice where they mention Jets, but I have yet to see a video of one

I am definitely excited for this game. Finally, the Frostbite engine makes its way to the PC platform. I can't wait to run Battlefield 2: Bad Company 2 maxed out. And I certainly can't wait to engage in some squad-based 'pwnage'. The addition of jets would've made this game near-perfect.

Hmmm, this definitely looks good. The last Battlefield game I really played was Battlefield 2 (and more recently the free Battlefield Heroes). This may be a good PC game for me to get though. Looks good, especially for a youtube video too.

Do not quote me on this but I do not think Bad Company 2 is coming to the PC. I know they announced Battlefield 3 and said that would be for the PC, so I think that meant BC2 would not be?

Oh, it's coming out on PC alright. Check out the wiki page. Plus, I saw interviews where they clearly state "It's coming out on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC."

Battlefield 3 is definitely coming out on PC. The question is, will it be PC-exclusive?

My friend and I played Bad Company 2 several times during the tournament at PAX09. I have to say it was a blast and felt very polished despite being so far from release.

We had fun running around on ATVs. There was only 4 classes but you could customize your loadout. Of course they didn't have a lot of stuff unlocked to choose from but hey the game is 6 months from release.

The new way you plant explosives and the way the enemy is notified keeps the game really frantic and exciting.

I'm a huge fan of BF1942, BFV, BF2 and BF1943 but never really got into Bad Company. It looks like Bad Company 2 will change that. But that's just me.

How about they give us PC gamers Battlefield 1943 before talking about Bad Company 2? That postponement screwed up my gaming clan. Right now we're clinging on to First Strike, a Star Wars mod for Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield Heroes. We were planning on moving to 1943 when it came out but Dice just had to make it take 6 months longer. If DICE is smart they'll bundle 1943 with Bad Company 2 for PC gamers.

Thanks for your input, thenut. I too am a fan of BF1942 and BF2. I felt that BF:BC was a little unpolished. Sure, it had great graphics and environmental destruction. What it didn't have was the same "style" as previous BF games. I hope BF:BC2 changes that and from what you said, I'm sure it will.

Nice. I really thought it was not coming out for it. Well then I will have to join you on the PC then, as I plan on maxing it out as well. Hell, if I need to get a second 285, I will.

Exactly what I thought. For me Bad Company's gameplay was too different from BF2.

But when I was playing Bad Company 2 all I could think was that it felt like the fun BF2 I used to play. Then again I have to admit it has been forever since I played BF2 so maybe some nostalgia took over and influenced me.

Now that's what I like to see. We should definitely setup some Neowin games. Oh, I'm getting all excited just thinking of it. I might even get a 2nd HD 4870 if I have to, hehe.

Exactly! Haha. I hope not. I haven't played BF2 in awhile too. It's a shame though, the game was released in 2005. It's 2009 and we still don't have another BF game for the PC. The next one will be out in March 2010.

You know what's funny? After I posted the new video I thought the video was a capture of the PC build of the game since the graphics were so good. Then I realized it was the 360 version since it showed an X button to reload

I really hope Bad Company 2 ends up being as fun as BF2 was for me. I've been playing tons of BF1943 on my 360 and I want more BF.

Also, SG-U in 2 days! WOOHOO! :woot:

I can only hope this game comes close to what BF2 was and still is, and that is in my opinion the best ever multiplayer experience to date. I somehow doubt it will surpass BF2 for me but getting close or on par would be more then enough (Y)

Put me down as a first day buy either way! :D

Will it have a hardcore mode like COD4?

Where guns are lethal and not BB guns

Well BC1 had a normal and a "harder" (don't remember what they called it though) selection for MP games. So I would assume BC2 will have it also.

That was the difficulty of the objectives, it didn't change anything gameplay wise. I do agree with him, I asked for that feature back when we at Neowin were playing BC matches, a hardcore mode. Just like Call of Duty 4, a mode where bullet kills in one or two shots, no HUD etc.
