My Lego fandom just went through the roof.

meh lego ruined it's self when they stopped making proper lego.

Go look at LEGO.com .. They've brought back the sets of yesteryear, and sets like it.. some of the new sets are absolutely AMAZING.

If Smeltn sees this thread, he can tell you how much of a LEGO fan I am..

It's not just a game.

It's an MMO.

They just opened a lego store by a mall here. I'm afraid if I go there, I'll go into debt, so I'm planning on going there without no money or credit card this weekend.

Oh God. I have kept my mouth shut about this to Andy because he was caught up in Champions Online.... But yeah, we already signed up for the beta.

I think it has a chance. It is supposedly going to be done like Free Realms, F2P with micro transactions, and they will start to sell special lego sets at stores, that you get a code with that allows you to create that item in game, so it could work. I love that they are bringing back the old school stuff like Andy said.

I am pretty excited about it, my son is going crazy about it, almost as bad as Andy.

Lego is coming back... they are releasing old style sets more and more now... the whole "town" "castle" and "trains" systems are back... and technic is coming back... I HATED how they went like pure star wars and custom to heck blocks for a few years there...

in the pst couple years I spend a fortune on lego sets when I saw this... bought some really big sets like the Eifel tower (its huge) the town houses... the wright brothers plane... some nice lego models

Lego was basically the only toy i ever wanted when i was younger. Strangely enough though, i never actually used to make what the sets wanted me to make. I had 3/4 massive boxes full of all my lego parts and i'd make what i wanted out of them, so when i could buy a new lego set.. instead of looking at what the set actually was, i'd look at the picture and try to spot 'pieces' which i didnt have or didnt have enough of to create what i wanted.

I remember spending afew months after Jurassic park came out, making a complete replica of it with everything, including fences (used pieces of string for the wire), a moneral, model dinosaurs, all the buildings, helipaid + helicopter, the 4 seater big cars, etc. Then when Lost World came out, i added in 2 huge cars with massive trailers.. The cars + trailers were about 12cm wide and 80cm long each, then i'd wreck the original jurassic park model (the dinosaurs escaping) and then move in with my ultra strong cars+trailers which also had the equipment on board to create the watchtowers, smaller cars, and traps :p

It was fun being young :(

Dang, all my lego got wrecked in the shed, the bucket got filled to the top with rusty water from the roof :( I used to love playing with that...

Nobody is too old for lego!

What are you people, 2 years old? collecting baby stuff? lol.

Baby stuff?... humm last time I checked engineers used lego's to do tests of models... technic is a very popular engineering tool for quick and simple design tests

My son gets a new set at least once a month, and he has Lego Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman all for xbox360..

He rarely makes the correct set either.. HE just wants the pieces so he can just build something he wants to build. He is 7yrs old.

I must say, Lego's are an amazing tool for learning and especially creativity. I love them to this day.

Wow, I miss Lego. I remember my random set. My dad brought home a bucket full of Lego pieces from a garage sale. I always found something new whenever I put my hand in the bucket to grab pieces. Man, it was so fun to put stuff together and make random things as a kid. I even had a Lego game back in '99 on my dad's computer.

That and this thread really makes me want to find my Lego out again, in the loft I?ve got a Lego train, loads of the city stuff, a massive monster truck, a pirate island with some ships, a Lego Mind Storms kit (only works on Windows 9:(:( ) , the robot sports expansion and the vision camera.

Ive got a lot more but I would have to have a look as I really can?t remember now as it?s been years since I last got it out.

I greatly miss my young Lego building days. I used to deconstruct multiple Lego Technic sets then form a new one. I hope they go back to the themes they used to create. I'm already sick of the same Star Wars Lego sets.
