I want to write for neowin

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I have some ideas that I wanted to run by the staff. I been thinking of recording my own tech info podcast and starting out every article might not be wrote by me but read from the neowin front page news " example: something intresting on neowin.net google does blah blah blah?

I would also probaly read from digg and other sites I found Tex

Ch news from.. And write some short stuff of my own research and opionion?

My main point was would it be ok to read articles from neowin even if I gave credit to the author? I just wanted to make sure before I got in trouble...

Or if you wanted to , I would read all the articles from neowin front page news word for word and post my auido clips on here and I could like be neowin news staff or somethin:):;);) just a thought that would be super cool

lol... The staff usually advertise for writers (have done quite recently if I remember), but make yourself known as a proficient writer and I'm sure they'll make note.

You should make an MP3 and post it for us to hear what you sound like :)

I think that is an excellent idea! Record a segment about a previous article and upload it to Neowin or submit it to editors@neowin.net so they can preview what you sound like!

Yeah, could work pretty well. Be good to really try and get people to post comments, to get conversation flowing.

ok,

@pixel ; thats exactly why i want to do this.... even if im just reading the news stories that are written on the front page it should stilll be beneficial.

I'll get my headset and a few minutes of quiet time and get a recording out.

Writing like this kinda worries me if you want to write for a news website.

I too want to write for Neowin, and I've supplied a writing example to the staff, however, the idea of writing something ON TOPIC that they want me to write about.. kind of put me on my waylay side. I'm kind of the kind of person who finds something random in life and will write passages about how I find it amusing or thought provoking.

A good example of that is the piece I gave the staff to read.

If I could do that for this site and get paid, I'd be happy as a clam.

This brings up the larger question which is, with the new infusion of newsposters would the community be looking for a new Neowin podcast? I'd like to get some feedback on that because it's something we've talked about briefly behind-the-scenes.
